its ok, in communist country there is no taxes, because all you get is set income for a job you do, yet its low. also you cant use any of oversea product, if you have even a toilet paper witch is not approved and numerated by communist rejime you will go to prison

Maybe not even higher amounts of social spending necessarily, but the point is there needs to be some social spending and some kind of basic government services

A lot of our current social programs need reform

@Gary Payton Tribute Account You don't want the gov't to OWN the means of production. You just want the gov't to control the RESULTS of production. You want the gov't to be able to give away what others have made. It's a noble idea in theory but a viscous one in practice.

I think the government should be able to regulate industry to a certain extent, do you agree some regulation is good for consumer safety and standard practices?

@CasualSailor yes thats a fair way to tax, the point is we agree the government should be able to tax citizens to fund public projects and public services that improve the quality of life of its citizens

@Gary Payton Tribute Account Not exactly. Monday morning there will be thousands of able bodied citizens who will not go to work anywhere. They live in housing, eat food, get medical care and etc all funded by the taxpayer. That same day, thousands of Mexican and other aliens will cross the border to take jobs picking fruit, building houses and etc. They too will receive benefits paid for by the taxpayer. This I do not agree with. I should not have to pay for anyone's "quality of life."

@DarKinGate I think if the government taxes everyone for some health care funds and used that money to get discounts on drugs and services, and provide basic emergency health services
