@gbol Thank you for the very useful comments, Trumpy. So can you actually help this project?

2017-04-11 15:34:32 UTC

I even tutor some linear algebra

2017-04-11 15:34:34 UTC

I have told you my skills

2017-04-11 15:34:37 UTC

Sir.

2017-04-11 15:34:45 UTC

😄

2017-04-11 15:34:45 UTC

@Renaar so i have to teach it to my self this summer cause my PI for grad school wants me to take theory of linear models

2017-04-11 15:34:48 UTC

I do not pretend to be that which I am not.

2017-04-11 15:34:57 UTC

I am a great teller of what is shit and what is not.

2017-04-11 15:35:07 UTC

@Renaar whats a good resource to learn it bitch

2017-04-11 15:35:42 UTC

i have done some programming and a little chem that use systems of equations and matrixs

2017-04-11 15:35:49 UTC

@RussianHacker it's a lot of bullshit mathematical proofs but at the same time it's worth it because of the crazy amount for applications

2017-04-11 15:35:55 UTC

Amount of

2017-04-11 15:36:04 UTC

@RussianHacker from my brain

2017-04-11 15:36:15 UTC

@Renaar do i need alot of calc for it

2017-04-11 15:36:16 UTC

@RussianHacker Linear algebra is great. I would avoid the MIT OpenCourseWare on it, though.

2017-04-11 15:36:38 UTC

Do you need to know it like for a test on the course or for using it for calculations

2017-04-11 15:36:41 UTC

Wait, is linear algebra not taught in HS?

2017-04-11 15:36:48 UTC

Wasn't for me

2017-04-11 15:36:50 UTC

Or usually, at least?

2017-04-11 15:36:54 UTC

Gonna teach my kids it

2017-04-11 15:36:59 UTC

i need it to do linear modeling

2017-04-11 15:37:00 UTC

I learned it in early HS/ middle school

2017-04-11 15:37:05 UTC

Then again I went to a private school

2017-04-11 15:37:28 UTC

@RussianHacker like a bunch of linear equations

2017-04-11 15:37:31 UTC

Solving?

2017-04-11 15:37:41 UTC

Super easy

2017-04-11 15:38:01 UTC

i need to do some proofs on why linear regression models and anovas work

2017-04-11 15:38:08 UTC

I might have PDFs somewhere

2017-04-11 15:38:14 UTC

and they reccomend some linear aljebra

2017-04-11 15:38:24 UTC

Uhhhh linear regression models a little outa my league

2017-04-11 15:38:26 UTC

What's it for?

2017-04-11 15:38:35 UTC

My roommate might know about that

2017-04-11 15:38:40 UTC

computational population genetics

2017-04-11 15:38:43 UTC

Honestly the only difficult part of learning higher mathematics is the shitloads of ridiculously overcomplicated terminology

2017-04-11 15:38:49 UTC

genomics actually

2017-04-11 15:39:25 UTC

@RussianHacker I can tell you that a good linear algebra book should include determinants, eigenvectors and eigenvalues, characteristic polynomials, principal value decompositions and possibly least squares fitting, along with the basics like dot products and the Cauchy-Schwartz Inequality (but then, determinants are also basics).

2017-04-11 15:39:36 UTC

Possibly other topics as well.

2017-04-11 15:39:50 UTC

@gbol annoying, I want to know the application but I have to learn the mumbo jumbo of the definitions where they nitpick every letter
