Chatrooms were destroyed, because companies didn't want to deal with it.
pedophiles ruin fucking everything
*Nods to XOrgy.*
I've had to take down a lot of cool websites because pedos try to share images on basically every website that allows image uploads.
I was 14 when I saw chatrooms destroyed. All chatrooms were taken down in one day after a high profile pedophile was caught grooming children on it.
heheh
well, AOL at least
msn had rooms too didn't it
I've been using IRC since I was a wee lad
Well MSN still had chatrooms afterwards.
but it's Freenode
But AOL got rid of all their chatrooms.
Snap.com chatrooms too.
so there's at least a nominal purpose of the rooms
other than just general discussion
I was in the Roleplaying chatrooms.
But when I looked at ASL chatrooms, it was a scummy hive of pedophiles.
Every time I entered, there was like several people trying to talk to me in private messages.
What in tardardation...
Well discord might go the way of chatrooms.
Chatrooms were destroyed thanks to pedophiles abusing the system to groom children.
Discord is being used by pedophiles to groom children now.
So we might see discord taken down due to pedophiles like what happen to chatrooms.
nah
i think that ppl should be more vigilant
that happens everywhere @Dusty Morgan
video games too
the only thing u can do is report it to discord and the police
I am just worried about discord being destroyed.
it won't be
it's much more popular than chatrooms were
and way more versatile
I like discord, great for video games.

Teamspeak would have gotten destroyed by that years ago if that were the case
any interaction based technology is gonna have some downsides
There needs to be a way to record transcripts and have it sent to FBI by reporting it.
record voice transcripts?
no
