@Blonald Blumph Have you seen any of John Lott's work? He's done a lot of study on the deterioration of the family and its effect on poverty and crime. One stat that stood out was that if you accounted for children of unwed mothers in jail the racial disparity practically disappears.

If you look at areas like West Virginia they have a large population of children of unwed mothers and they experience practically the same levels of crime, drug abuse, suicide, child neglect and etc that is often attributed to the Black community. But they also have similar amounts of unwed mothers as blacks. There is a distinct correlation.
