So I'm excited to see that happen
u can see russia from my backyard if u get on the rood of my shed
It involves tons of people seeing the reality eventually so I'm game
Anyone see Starship Troopers?
As a kid I didn't realize it was an intense parody
I just thought it was some weird sci fi shit
Pewdiepie and Sargon made good points about it being parody
I don't feel bad since I was like a little kid
But many adults took it very seriously
🤔
@Gilgamesh The guy who wrote the screenplay for Starship Troopers didn't even read the book. The movie seems like a parody but its really just Hollywood's effort to trash the novel. I've read it numerous times, once in the last year. It is a great "soldier's story" and an effective indictment of liberal philosophy. I highly recommend the book. It is required reading at West Point.
it's a parody movie of overt military loyalty i think
The only think the novel and movie have in common is that both have bugs and soldiers.
@CasualSailor I heard the book was in support of only military people being allowed to vote
How did none of the actors get erect when they were in the shower scene
Mixed gender showers is a bad idea imo
Definitely is a bad idea. There is way to many people who would take advantage of that.
Even if most guys would fight the one rapist
Wasn't a female draft brought up recently?
@Gilgamesh Not really. It is a soldier's story. But in the time it takes place, only veterans have the franchise. But EVERYONE is allowed to serve, even if they are incapable of doing the easiest job the military will invent a job for them to do. It is suggested that if one were blind and deaf and still wanted to serve then they would be given the job counting the hairs on a caterpillar by touch. The reason why the franchise was only given to veterans who had completed their term of service was because by doing so they demonstrated that they could put their own selfish needs second to the need of the species as a whole. The book is not a defense of fascism or militarism or anything else. It is a simple soldier's story which conveys a sociological message about sacrifice.
@CasualSailor I like your perspective
@Gilgamesh I highly recommend the book.
But I'd need to do more research
In all honesty, multiple sex bathrooms and showers is just a fantasy that never play out well in real life.
@Dusty Morgan I agree. If anything we need single bathrooms and not shared
Like, who wants to actually shit next to someone else
I have no problem being in showers with opposite gender, it doesn't bother me much. I grown up and no a child about it.
I avoid public shitting like the plague
But I understand, most people are not me.
@Dusty Morgan you've showered with women who you aren't intimate with?
@Gilgamesh If you like soldier's stories, I recommend Starship Troopers, The Forever War, The Old Man's War and Seal Team One. The first 3 are scifi, the last is an autobiography of the first Seal Team deployed to Vietnam. Liberals hated that book because it described real professional soldiers in the early days of the Vietnam war not the pot smoking, raping ones of Hollywood's imagination.
Yes I ahve.
why
It isn't a big deal.
@CasualSailor. I'll write those down now
or how more like
Like we had no choice about it.
