Aircraft Carriers kind of pushed out the Battleship following WWII because of vulnerability vs cost concerns. This actually caused a massive revolt and departure of officers in the US military called the Revolt of the Admirals and is part of why there is still some animosity between the services

2018-11-27 13:37:20 UTC

right, russia can do more with less but china has about the same amount of resources as the US and can also do more with less. To grossly simplify things

2018-11-27 13:37:32 UTC

I'd just rather Ireland stay neutral as we have a dogshit military

2018-11-27 13:37:32 UTC

does it?

2018-11-27 13:37:33 UTC

^

2018-11-27 13:37:36 UTC

The air force had a lot of undue pull in design and material considerations in the military for decades

2018-11-27 13:37:36 UTC

Honestly, China would get destroyed by the USA

2018-11-27 13:37:37 UTC

It does.

2018-11-27 13:37:37 UTC

It's mainly because of the cost of loosing one.

2018-11-27 13:37:46 UTC

I like chicken

2018-11-27 13:37:57 UTC

Russia and china, have fuck all on USA military wise

2018-11-27 13:38:04 UTC

An aircraft carrier goes down that's billions of dollors and thousands off lives.

2018-11-27 13:38:07 UTC

The U.S showed why battleships were outdated

2018-11-27 13:38:09 UTC

US spends most of it's budget operating 800 bases world wide. It's struggling to service it'splanes.

2018-11-27 13:38:11 UTC

China has men

2018-11-27 13:38:25 UTC

Conscripts

2018-11-27 13:38:28 UTC

Not men

2018-11-27 13:38:29 UTC

I mean battleships are an amazing psychological weapon

2018-11-27 13:38:32 UTC

Conscripts matter.

2018-11-27 13:38:34 UTC

Just not a pragmatic one

2018-11-27 13:38:35 UTC

How long is Russia's single active legally-not-a-carrier aircraft carrier out for

2018-11-27 13:38:38 UTC

id say counting allies it would honestly by a M.A.D senario

2018-11-27 13:38:44 UTC

Out for*

2018-11-27 13:38:45 UTC

Oh they do

2018-11-27 13:38:46 UTC

And the US military is disgustingly pragmatic these days.

2018-11-27 13:38:46 UTC

Isn't that why they're looking into light attack aircraft the the beechhead? @Tea

2018-11-27 13:38:50 UTC

The Koznetzov?

2018-11-27 13:38:56 UTC

Yeah

2018-11-27 13:39:01 UTC

I'm not sure.

2018-11-27 13:39:05 UTC

After being damaged and whatnot

2018-11-27 13:39:24 UTC

2018-11-27 13:39:26 UTC

2018-11-27 13:39:34 UTC

2018-11-27 13:39:48 UTC

2018-11-27 13:39:56 UTC

Also Ukraine

2018-11-27 13:40:04 UTC

Because Russia is gay

2018-11-27 13:40:07 UTC

Also Chechen war

2018-11-27 13:40:10 UTC

US schools have a very nationalistic bias, and as such still tend to paint Russia as this horrible boogeyman

2018-11-27 13:40:12 UTC

@Dimorac russia does still hold the deepest diving missle capable subs if im not mistaken
