cant tell from other side

2018-12-09 17:03:41 UTC

but still, they didnt have the resources to compete with the allies using the PZIV, especially considering they were fighting the russians

2018-12-09 17:03:59 UTC

I mean Panzer IV was the most common one, and versus the M4A3 series it was pretty outmatched

2018-12-09 17:04:02 UTC

and the russians were building tanks as big as tigers

2018-12-09 17:04:04 UTC

It was very good early war

2018-12-09 17:04:11 UTC

yeah

2018-12-09 17:04:24 UTC

it ended up getting outpaced so they converted them to Stugs

2018-12-09 17:04:29 UTC

which was genius

2018-12-09 17:04:36 UTC

Would have been easier to mount additonal armor and improve the rounds for the gun then trying to make a new tank.

2018-12-09 17:04:44 UTC

Or go balls deep in the panther II project and ignore other heavies

2018-12-09 17:04:51 UTC

agreed

2018-12-09 17:04:56 UTC

but still

2018-12-09 17:04:59 UTC

Its always better to improve what you got then to make new things

2018-12-09 17:05:05 UTC

they would be vastly outnumbered no matter what

2018-12-09 17:05:11 UTC

so they had to brudge the gap

2018-12-09 17:05:16 UTC

It was said the IS-2 actually killed one of the Maus at the factory

2018-12-09 17:05:19 UTC

So there goes that armor.

2018-12-09 17:05:19 UTC

and the PZIV couldnt bridge the gap

2018-12-09 17:05:33 UTC

well if you shoot them with specialized rounds

2018-12-09 17:05:34 UTC

I always liked that story about the T34, the guy tried to sell the design to the US and they were like "Nah, that's way too big" so he sold it to Russia

2018-12-09 17:05:54 UTC

T-34 was a fucking abomination that barley worked. But it barley worked , in a good way.

2018-12-09 17:06:01 UTC

yeah

2018-12-09 17:06:04 UTC

in a russian way

2018-12-09 17:06:11 UTC

it just barely worked well enough

2018-12-09 17:06:12 UTC

Id been impressed if it didnt go through. 122 is pretty high pen.

2018-12-09 17:06:16 UTC

@potroaster You're thinking of the christie suspension.

2018-12-09 17:06:19 UTC

Not the actual tank

2018-12-09 17:06:28 UTC

Yeah that's it

2018-12-09 17:06:35 UTC

The fucking track pins arent held in by anything, so they added a slopped bit of armor to knock them back in as you drove it.

2018-12-09 17:06:36 UTC

ooh nice

2018-12-09 17:06:37 UTC
