an issue with a lot of german tanks tbh
Yeah survivability was lended to armor thickness and trust of that, rather than good escape means
Is that a mk1 or 2 landship?
mk 5
Ah
it has a male gun at least
cant tell from other side
but still, they didnt have the resources to compete with the allies using the PZIV, especially considering they were fighting the russians
I mean Panzer IV was the most common one, and versus the M4A3 series it was pretty outmatched
and the russians were building tanks as big as tigers
It was very good early war
yeah
it ended up getting outpaced so they converted them to Stugs
which was genius
Would have been easier to mount additonal armor and improve the rounds for the gun then trying to make a new tank.
Or go balls deep in the panther II project and ignore other heavies
agreed
but still
Its always better to improve what you got then to make new things
so they had to brudge the gap
It was said the IS-2 actually killed one of the Maus at the factory
So there goes that armor.
and the PZIV couldnt bridge the gap
well if you shoot them with specialized rounds
I always liked that story about the T34, the guy tried to sell the design to the US and they were like "Nah, that's way too big" so he sold it to Russia
ha
128 Jaegertigeroo
The muas took a shell from 122mm and it didn't peirce
T-34 was a fucking abomination that barley worked. But it barley worked , in a good way.
yeah
in a russian way
it just barely worked well enough
Id been impressed if it didnt go through. 122 is pretty high pen.
@potroaster You're thinking of the christie suspension.
Not the actual tank
Yeah that's it
