That's my guess too, it was to hit back at Trump because of the trade war. Trump was the first president to ever challenge the Chinese, they didn't take it too well. Our stock market is completely crashing (dow jones was just -13% yesterday) while chinese stock market is taking a very minimal hit of -3%. This will keep on getting worse, government forcing people to self quarantine for a month is gonna take a really huge hit on the economy. I think this is the first time something like this happens where you had to stop the means of production in the last 100 years.
