I'd love some evidence of gravity about now

2019-12-13 21:57:58 UTC

We need to talk sometime dude @Drewski4343

2019-12-13 21:58:26 UTC

It's better if I don't know the answer to certain questions being asked sometime because it opens up my world-view on this subject

2019-12-13 21:59:23 UTC

you can prove the existence of gravity with even a simple pendulum

2019-12-13 21:59:23 UTC

But when people try and ask questions after making a claim which can't be proven it's just bs

2019-12-13 22:02:09 UTC

I'd like that! And I won't BS anything/pretend to explain something I don't know about. You should always understand your subject before arguing for it in debate.

2019-12-13 22:02:49 UTC

That what most people do in here - come in advocating for something they actually know very little about.

2019-12-13 22:05:06 UTC

@l.caudri you can't prove the existence of gravity.

2019-12-13 22:05:50 UTC

Yeah for sure dude

2019-12-13 22:06:04 UTC

I love to learn and if I'm wrong about the Earth's shape I'll say it like a man

2019-12-13 22:06:41 UTC

I've already stopped using some evidence for the FE because they weren't correct and it was proven to me to be false so I admitted that

2019-12-13 22:07:00 UTC

🤷‍♂️ You gotta be honest in this realm of debate

2019-12-13 22:08:47 UTC

Absolutely! I'll openly admit problems on the opposite side too - gravity has problems and is an unfinished theory. NASA clearly has doctored footage that makes me suspicious.

2019-12-13 22:12:22 UTC

Cool

2019-12-13 22:12:39 UTC

I'm getting ready for work give me a few minutes

2019-12-13 22:12:59 UTC

Sure đź‘Ť

2019-12-13 22:22:57 UTC

@Drewski4343 What footage presented would you said NASA has doctored? It's interesting to if a glober could admit that

2019-12-13 22:23:46 UTC

Their green screen stuff that shows feet or whole people disappearing.

2019-12-13 22:23:53 UTC

That's weird. There's no need for that.

2019-12-13 22:25:00 UTC

Yeah totally

2019-12-13 22:25:15 UTC

Why don't you think people acknowledge that more?

2019-12-13 22:28:04 UTC

I've got to head out now it would be nice to talk about this again soon enough

2019-12-13 22:30:08 UTC

hafel keating just showed that atomic clocks are effected by different conditions

2019-12-13 22:31:33 UTC

the cause wasnt isolated

2019-12-13 22:32:59 UTC

Probably because people are biased and are quick to sweep stuff like that under the rug and dismiss it.
For sure @floridaswamptrash! (Sorry, I got called away from my desk)

2019-12-13 22:35:39 UTC

The conditions were meticulously minimized in subsequent experiments for Hafele–Keating. Each test produced results that were consistent with GR predictions. It's very good evidence of time dilation.

2019-12-13 22:37:18 UTC

so how was the clock protected from the earth magnetic field?

2019-12-13 22:40:17 UTC

https://www.relativity.li/en/epstein2/read/i0_en/i6_en
```The three clocks were carefully shielded against vibration, temperature variations, pressure variations and the influences of magnetic fields. The differences due to construction between the 6 clocks used in the experiment were accurately measured, before, between and after the flights, and their values were corrected according to these measurements.```
2019-12-13 22:40:26 UTC
Not sure *how* they did, exactly.
2019-12-13 22:40:41 UTC
but it was apparently taken into account during the Maryland experiment.
2019-12-13 22:43:14 UTC
and did they do the test without the sheilding from the magnetic field to see the difference?
2019-12-13 22:43:33 UTC
That I don't know.
2019-12-13 22:43:56 UTC
would you have done that?
2019-12-13 22:44:32 UTC
so the clocks go faster the higher they are
2019-12-13 22:44:51 UTC
and slower depending on how fast they move
2019-12-13 22:45:35 UTC
I personally would have tested the container beforehand to make sure it provided accurate shielding over a secondary trip.
2019-12-13 22:46:11 UTC
Yes, that's right.
2019-12-13 22:47:20 UTC
how was that calculated
2019-12-13 22:47:30 UTC
the expected value that is
2019-12-13 22:47:33 UTC
but I can certainly see the benefit of a second trip *without* the shielding.
2019-12-13 22:48:33 UTC
and did they record how much vibration the clocks experienced
