The firmament dome is what separates earth from Heaven. Nothing gets through the firmament. That's why space travel is impossible.  The North Star sits above the North Pole and it never moves.   All of the stars and planets rotate around the North Star in unison. All of the constellations have kept their proportionate distances to each other over thousands of years.         This proves that they are attached to some invisible matrix which is the firmament. The planets are wandering stars and they're not attached to the firmament therefore they move about freely
