Yes, that’s the 2nd law of thermodynamics argument

2019-12-23 21:09:47 UTC

same as it would for a nebula

2019-12-23 21:09:53 UTC

no

2019-12-23 21:10:05 UTC

they say space cannot exist

2019-12-23 21:10:05 UTC

What is the 2nd law argument, can you clarify?

2019-12-23 21:10:13 UTC

Why do they say it cannot exist?

2019-12-23 21:10:39 UTC

because it violates the 2nd law of thermodynamics

2019-12-23 21:11:16 UTC

Why does space’s existence supposedly violate the law in the argument?

2019-12-23 21:11:32 UTC

i am not talking such a rigid position

2019-12-23 21:11:43 UTC

i just give an opinion

2019-12-23 21:12:08 UTC

But you’re using the exact same argument

2019-12-23 21:12:12 UTC
2019-12-23 21:12:32 UTC

it isnt an argument its an opinion

2019-12-23 21:12:32 UTC

The idea behind the argument is that gas pressure can’t exist next to a vacuum

How is an opinion used in opposition to another than an argument?

2019-12-23 21:13:33 UTC

its just put there

2019-12-23 21:13:57 UTC

rather then claiming something is impossible

2019-12-23 21:14:34 UTC

“I think this will/won’t” rather than “this will/won’t” doesn’t change whether or not it isn’t an argument

2019-12-23 21:14:40 UTC

ok

2019-12-23 21:15:06 UTC

This was a pretty pointless subconversation, wasnt it? 😅

2019-12-23 21:15:14 UTC

no

2019-12-23 21:15:37 UTC

i really dont know what goes on in the sky

2019-12-23 21:16:09 UTC

But you’re claiming that given x, y will happen

2019-12-23 21:16:29 UTC

yes, but im not fixed on it

2019-12-23 21:17:10 UTC

i will not say space doesnt exist because x

2019-12-23 21:18:31 UTC

And that’s why this sub-conversation was pointless, you’re skirting around the point that you are using the same argument. Flat Earthers saying space can’t exist next to an atmosphere don’t believe space exists, but they still use that argument

2019-12-23 21:19:12 UTC

It’s a given X, Y kind of thing. It’s an argument, and you’re using it. You’re just removing yourself from the responsibility.

2019-12-23 21:19:29 UTC

im not using it

2019-12-23 21:19:29 UTC

But regardless, I huh again, it was still fun

2019-12-23 21:19:56 UTC

i dont use that argument to support flat earth

2019-12-23 21:20:37 UTC

i was arguing for it because i think its the case

2019-12-23 21:21:01 UTC

but it doesnt prove flat earth

2019-12-23 21:32:33 UTC

(Back for a quick sec)
You’re using it as an argument against globe earth, and you’re still using that as an argument

2019-12-23 21:32:50 UTC

It extends into a proof by contradiction

2019-12-23 21:55:52 UTC

its a claim i do not have sufficient proof for

2019-12-23 21:56:02 UTC

hence just an opinion
