im sure its possible to have complications. thats possible with basically everything. what is important are the benefits compared to the drawbacks. before vaccines some diseases wiped out millions of people.

i am pretts sure that complication probabilities are below single digits. i would have to check some papers for that to know exactly.

the same way you know other things have effects. you gather data and draw conclusions.
