Yet you do.

2020-02-06 18:48:33 UTC

Who claimed it was distant before proving it

2020-02-06 18:48:57 UTC

You literally claim it’s 93 million miles away with zero tangible verifiability.

2020-02-06 18:49:41 UTC

the beams of light do not reveal the position of the sun. you need the length of another "side" of a triangle, by obvserving it from a different point. People did this in 250 BC. All someone needs is two different measuring angles with a known distance between them

2020-02-06 18:49:53 UTC

verification is in the numbers.

2020-02-06 18:50:18 UTC

you cant understand relationships between celestial bodies in a tangible way

2020-02-06 18:50:31 UTC

If you know the distance between two points, doesn’t it stand to argue you can verify the curve in between those two points on a ball earth of 24,901 miles in circumference?

2020-02-06 18:51:57 UTC

Yes. This is how the circumference was measured as well. By knowing the distance between two points and measuring the angle of the sun's rays by measuring how far the rays would fall into a well, the circumference of the earth was measured

2020-02-06 18:52:55 UTC

Nobody has ever measured curve. Truly, I’m sorry.

2020-02-06 18:53:24 UTC

And Eratosthenes experiment assumed light rays were parallel.

2020-02-06 18:53:28 UTC

They’re not.

2020-02-06 18:53:47 UTC

They’re divergent. So you’re already operating from a conclusion first, instead of observation first.

2020-02-06 18:54:38 UTC

You choose to oppose concepts that thousands of scientists and mathematicians rely on to make what they do work with a poorly edited image with no verification lmao

2020-02-06 18:55:34 UTC

There is no substitute for tangible proof. Theorists pretending theories are substitutes, can take a hike.

2020-02-06 18:57:02 UTC

what about tectonic plate interactions that cause ripple effects around the earth, light distortion due to the curved atmosphere, satellite imagery, and common transport systems that go around earth

2020-02-06 18:57:03 UTC

@Holocene your “science” does not follow the scientific method thus it is pseudoscience

2020-02-06 18:57:47 UTC

i have talked about scientists as a group. I have no clue what you are talking abount.

2020-02-06 18:57:48 UTC

Can you prove the atmosphere curves
There’s not a single real picture of earth from space

2020-02-06 18:58:02 UTC

And many of them can’t replicate studies by peers

2020-02-06 18:58:08 UTC

Infact 80% can’t

2020-02-06 18:58:30 UTC

i made my own atmosphere balloon my guy, chances are the middle school 2 blocks away from you has as well.

2020-02-06 18:59:00 UTC

You’re saying our atmosphere has a physical barrier? Okay.

2020-02-06 18:59:04 UTC

If you can not replicate a study
It is not science

2020-02-06 18:59:26 UTC

The atmosphere needs to be a physical barrier
If not then all life of earth would not exist

2020-02-06 19:01:52 UTC

what do you mean by physical

2020-02-06 19:02:17 UTC

A solid

2020-02-06 19:02:24 UTC

It is a mixture of gasses around the atmosphere that was originally produced in the protozoic era due to volcanic action

2020-02-06 19:02:24 UTC

It’s not a riddle.

2020-02-06 19:02:24 UTC

Like plastic or glass

2020-02-06 19:02:44 UTC

Dat moment when you use bbc news as a source

2020-02-06 19:02:46 UTC

None of those gasses would be around if there’s no container

2020-02-06 19:03:06 UTC

You cannot have a vacuum next to a non vacuum without a solid container

2020-02-06 19:03:15 UTC

@The_chickenmaster k chicken fricker

2020-02-06 19:03:54 UTC

centripetal force and gravity. In places like mars with less gravity, the atmosphere does not stay put

2020-02-06 19:04:03 UTC

Define gravity

2020-02-06 19:05:33 UTC

gravity is technically not correct, it is space-time curvature that pulls objects together. this was verified recently due to strong gravitational lensing that was able to detect these forces

2020-02-06 19:05:51 UTC

ah yes, we arrive at the upwards accelerating disc bs
