The higher lines would see a farther horizon.
Lower lines would see closer.
It’s why you see a longer sunset on a plane.
To someone on the ground, the sun might have already set.
You do realize that sunlight isn’t localized? In the diagram before your last, it would still be light up.
They’re up north, because of the earth’s spin, the sun doesn’t go below the horizon.
That’s an alternative answer, but it isn’t backed up with science.
