yes
concave earthers are right
hush numpty
yeah?
Why is it that we only see one face of the moon. If it is orbiting a ball...imagine if its rising...you would see a different face than when it sets but we dont. We always see the same face no matter the observers position
Its very weird
tidal locking
That has nothing to do with it
Plus its not tidally locked
?
Tidal nodes prove that
@Citizen Z what does tidally locked mean?
Im speaking of the observation of the moon itself. It never changes face. It rises to your left (or right) then sets to your right (or left). If the observer is on a ball and the moon was a sphere then you would see the sides of the moon
again
what is tidal locking?
And parts of the back at times
Again. Are we on a globe and is the moon a sphere?
hang on
what is the orbital period of the moon?
Tidal locking doesnt explain that
so here is the thing
over the course of a night, the moon does not move much
you do
the period is about 28 days
a month
that is where the name comes from, too
If u moved then you would see the side of the moon
So let me propose a though experiment to explain this
Yet no one ever has
the moon is far away
really far
So
Shouldnt matter
if a mountain is 20 miles from you
If u r moving in a circle on a globe. The moon would rise and set and you would see different sides of it
and you walk five feet in any direction
will you see a signficant change?
in the mountain?
Thats not the same
