Why is an opinion relevant?

2019-12-27 09:32:40 UTC

if I gave you 5 reasons they would lie, so what?

2019-12-27 09:33:03 UTC

what does that have to do with a laser test across 20 miles that shows no curvature?

2019-12-27 09:33:36 UTC

but you can easily do this yourself--come up with possible hypotheses

2019-12-27 09:33:52 UTC

What if that laser was strong enough to 'travel around the world'? Or point from pole to pole?

2019-12-27 09:34:19 UTC

what poles?

2019-12-27 09:34:30 UTC

North and south pole

2019-12-27 09:34:51 UTC

how do you know they are there?

2019-12-27 09:35:23 UTC

we can calculate the amount of curvature that should be visible across a distance

2019-12-27 09:35:30 UTC

and we don't see that

2019-12-27 09:35:32 UTC

@Flat Earth PhD wait a sec ..should a laser have a curvature if it cross a 20 miles? This is new to me 🤔

2019-12-27 09:35:49 UTC

there should be measurable curvature, yes

2019-12-27 09:35:54 UTC

even 5miles

2019-12-27 09:35:58 UTC

even 1 mile

2019-12-27 09:36:09 UTC

roughly 8inch/mile 2

2019-12-27 09:36:14 UTC

Can i have references for more informations please?

2019-12-27 09:36:58 UTC

I really want to be able to send images 😂

2019-12-27 09:37:30 UTC

so over say 20 miles we should see a drop of 266 feet.

2019-12-27 09:38:15 UTC

but we don't see that. we can still see a laser or mirror reflection from shore to shore

2019-12-27 09:38:20 UTC

Hmmm iam gonna study this more

2019-12-27 09:39:54 UTC

@ChinaGirlNL if you really care about the "why"....ask yourself, what is the difference between a spinning ball (that supposedly resulted from a big explosion) and a flat surfaced earth with a firmament

2019-12-27 09:41:08 UTC

from a metaphysical point of view. not the obvious physical differences

2019-12-27 09:41:59 UTC

you don't have to answer. it's a rhetorical question

2019-12-27 09:42:25 UTC

What difference do you mean? (Easier way of questioning please, I'm foreign and 15 😂)

2019-12-27 09:43:23 UTC

does it seem reasonable that this would be the result of a big explosion? (e.g. "Big Bang")

2019-12-27 09:44:16 UTC

yes or no

2019-12-27 09:44:27 UTC

Sorry for saying this, but as a globe earther, I don't even think this seems reasonable at all (no offense)

2019-12-27 09:44:34 UTC

hypothetically

2019-12-27 09:44:49 UTC

No

2019-12-27 09:45:09 UTC

great. so that would then lead one to what logical conclusion for where it came from?

2019-12-27 09:45:21 UTC

if it didn't come from a random event then....

2019-12-27 09:45:30 UTC

God

2019-12-27 09:45:34 UTC

_The great question mark of atheism_

2019-12-27 09:45:50 UTC

@hamed473 gave the answer I was expecting

2019-12-27 09:46:09 UTC

if something is not the result of a randomprocess like the big bang...then

2019-12-27 09:46:16 UTC

it most likely is the result of a guided process. e.g. a creator

2019-12-27 09:46:19 UTC

I actually have to vacuum clean my house now

2019-12-27 09:46:32 UTC

Lol

2019-12-27 09:46:42 UTC

you are a Christian so this should be easy for you

2019-12-27 09:46:49 UTC

Not an excuse, I try to procrastinate it XD
