the seasons I would argue are caused by the movement of the sun above the earth, when the sun is circling the northern tropic of cancer close to the north pole (the centre) it will be summer in the north and winter in the south, when the sun's circle expands to the southern tropic of Capricorn it will be summer in the south and winter in the north, ANYBODY can make observations of the sun and see that it is obviously moving above us in a circular motion, I have witnessed this my self over the past year
