America’s have laws, a government, Popular Sovereignty and Most American citizens and acknowledge and support it’s existence
What metric do you use to say it’s illegitimate
Sorry liberals, the USA is real
I’m a liberal and I’m happy America exists
Last time i heard America is a nation
I think it's a bit of both
Part of what makes America an experiment is that it's a nation with no real roots.
The nation was created by Anglos and unlike Europe there is no long linneage of monarchs.
There was talk of appointing a king at some point but they were worried that Europe would just make fun of him.
America was founded off the ideas of liberty it doesn’t need a king
Kings don’t mean legitimacy
Is India not a legit nation
@Obama_Bin_Laden U.S is not a nation
A nation is of common culture language and heritage. The u.s does not currently meet these criteria and is thus not a nation
And colonial America was far superior
Lots of local theocratic states
America is a nation of common heritage, everyone came to America with a dream and a goal and people mixed culture into America
Everyone had a someone similar story
@Obama_Bin_Laden That's not similar culture
Or heritage
Or language
There was a common language and culture.
Thing is that those things are inconvenient for some people so those things are being erased.
wait now that I think about it, there is no common American culture.
Somebody explained to me that there is no common Dutch culture either due to how isolated the cities are.
There is no American culture, but there is Texan and Appalachian culture.
Because it has no culture
by that defintion there are no nations
Stating that America is no nation is absurd.
He has to be
Also materialism, unfortunately.
Or is a sovereign citizen
I think it's also that local cultures are being surpressed in favor of globohomo
tough that's not a strictly American problem
How are local culture being suppressed
Meh
Not entirely true tbh
pushing of globohomo
Export of CA "Culture"
outside of the US the gradual replacement of local languages in favor of US English.
I’ve lived in Germany and most people speak English but German is the primary language and is under no threat
Most people I speak mainly use US English.
The influx of US students and the government not giving a shit isn't helping either.
The thing with Dutch is that we're pragmatic.
"if switching to English makes doing business easier then we might as well switch to English"
