Its not an ideology in and of itself, its a tenet of an ideology

2020-03-06 23:15:28 UTC

its an analysis on how should we establish natural law of man

2020-03-06 23:15:54 UTC

Libertarianism is not exclusively individualist

2020-03-06 23:16:01 UTC

Fascists believe it should be done in reference to the collective state of the nation, which is manifest as the state
Communists believe it should be done in reference to materialism

2020-03-06 23:16:21 UTC

Libertarians believe it should be done in reference to the state of man in absence of all other "entities" and their interventions

2020-03-06 23:16:30 UTC

Without methodalogical individualism you cannot justify the NAP

2020-03-06 23:16:56 UTC

Huh

2020-03-06 23:16:58 UTC

Why

2020-03-06 23:17:21 UTC

Because only thru methodological individualism is the idea of non intervention derived

2020-03-06 23:17:49 UTC

Well people tend to voluntarily choose to work as a collective

2020-03-06 23:17:55 UTC

That's why you give to charity

2020-03-06 23:18:01 UTC

That's why people work as groups

2020-03-06 23:18:14 UTC

Ok? I never denied that, so that's quite irrelevant to my point

2020-03-06 23:18:14 UTC

That's why people join unions

2020-03-06 23:18:25 UTC

That's not why people join unions lol, but besides the point

2020-03-06 23:18:44 UTC

They join to work as a collective to strive for better rights

2020-03-06 23:19:16 UTC

No, they join as a collective not because its a collective but because as a collective they're more efficient at forcing the capitalist to subject to their interests

2020-03-06 23:19:20 UTC

but again besides the point

2020-03-06 23:19:38 UTC

I challenge you to justify non intervention without methodological individualism

2020-03-06 23:19:38 UTC

Go

2020-03-06 23:25:40 UTC

Well when you're intervening on people's lives, it ends up hurting the collective. Just like the war on drugs harms the collective, or the war in the middle east harmed the collective, or enforcing gender roles or whatever, the collective doesn't get harmed. The only individual rewards I get from ending those things are tax cuts, however, I can acknowledge that those interventions harm the collective so I oppose them

2020-03-06 23:26:39 UTC

In what way does intervening on individuals lives harm the collective, that's contextual, no?

2020-03-06 23:27:40 UTC

If the majority of the people adhere to a certain principle X, and the minority adhere to the antithesis of X, the government getting rid of that minority would not really harm the majority which adheres to X

2020-03-07 00:15:30 UTC

it depends what the individual is doing and how degenerate it is, if it's high degenerative behavior then it's a threat to the collective. less degenerate things aren't much of a threat to the collective *this text will disappear in 5 seconds

authoritarian is bad while libertarian is decent hard question...

2020-03-07 22:10:10 UTC

**QOTD ๐Ÿ”– **

2020-03-07 22:10:39 UTC

2020-03-07 22:10:42 UTC

@Bkoolis Not a conspiracy

2020-03-07 22:10:44 UTC

2020-03-07 22:11:39 UTC

@21ooAB I don't believe in unproven stuff, i consider them possibilities.
To believe in a conspiracy makes someone faithful
