Make tax evasion and abusing tax loopholes punishable by death

2020-03-29 21:05:31 UTC

I don’t believe in punishing people for using tax loopholes unless they’re just straight up lying. Fix the loopholes instead

You would have your economy crippled when you implement such a high tax on the wealthy, especially in a country like the USA. It should depend on how much your economy depends on the top bracket. This "gradual" integration won't work - it'll have more or less, the same effects with the sudden implementation.

2020-03-29 21:05:55 UTC

Oliver got a point

2020-03-29 21:06:05 UTC

@Koninos There is no evidence that taxing the top bracket more weakens the economy

2020-03-29 21:06:14 UTC

Infact all historical evidence points to the opposite in the industrialized world

2020-03-29 21:06:15 UTC

I'm not saying that.

2020-03-29 21:06:28 UTC

Koninos is a landlord

2020-03-29 21:06:33 UTC

I'm saying that implementing a 90% tax on them, would cripple the economy.

2020-03-29 21:06:37 UTC

Especially nowadays.

2020-03-29 21:06:50 UTC

Also there is no evidence because no one was stupid enough to implement such tax yet.

2020-03-29 21:06:52 UTC

Is there any evidence for that?

2020-03-29 21:06:54 UTC

No.

2020-03-29 21:07:01 UTC

Um?

2020-03-29 21:07:03 UTC

There is

2020-03-29 21:07:03 UTC

But theoretically speaking, I'm proving you wrong.

2020-03-29 21:07:11 UTC

1940-50's we had 90% on top bracket

2020-03-29 21:07:11 UTC

My father is a landlord but unlike parasites he has an actual job and the people who rent just pay for the utilities and mortgage, him being a landlord isn’t fucking job because it never was one to begin with

2020-03-29 21:07:24 UTC

@Oliver what does he work with

2020-03-29 21:07:34 UTC

And as I said, that's a bad comparison, because in the 40's the economy didn't depend on the top bracket.

2020-03-29 21:07:34 UTC

What do you mean what does he work with?

2020-03-29 21:07:40 UTC

What does he work with

2020-03-29 21:07:43 UTC

What's his job

2020-03-29 21:07:48 UTC

He’s an educator

2020-03-29 21:07:51 UTC

@Koninos You can't deny that during the 1950's it was the most prosperous time in U.S history - do you know why?

2020-03-29 21:07:51 UTC

It depended mainly on the workers, and that's when immigration started increasing.

2020-03-29 21:07:53 UTC

A teacher?

2020-03-29 21:07:56 UTC

Because the economy didnt depend on the megarich

2020-03-29 21:07:56 UTC

Yeah

2020-03-29 21:07:59 UTC

I'm not denying it.

2020-03-29 21:08:00 UTC

It depended on the middle class

2020-03-29 21:08:05 UTC

Exactly.

2020-03-29 21:08:10 UTC

Teaches math to high schoolers

2020-03-29 21:08:20 UTC

Implementing it today would be foolish, because the economy doesn't depend on the middle class.

2020-03-29 21:08:30 UTC

Teachers had such shit lifes, your dad is based in educating the generations even if he is a landlord

2020-03-29 21:08:32 UTC

@Koninos Then give me a proposal - how do we make the middle class the backbone of the economy - and make billionares irrelevant to the economy?

2020-03-29 21:08:34 UTC

His crimes are forgiven

2020-03-29 21:08:35 UTC

You need to first make sure that your economy depends on the middle class, and then tax the wealthy heavily.

2020-03-29 21:09:08 UTC

Lol he really doesn’t profit off it, does that forgive the crimes? Also he work maintenance so it’s not just that

2020-03-29 21:09:20 UTC

Well, I hate economics, but implementing a 90% tax on the top bracket wouldn't strengthen the middle class.
