And the path of gold has no loyalty or honour.

2020-03-29 21:21:47 UTC

@Koninos During the 50's, in a family of 4 - just the father could work - and make enough money to support all 4 in a middle-class suburban life with 2 cars, and still have enough money to buy luxuries and go to vacation.

2020-03-29 21:22:08 UTC

Because of a combination of decisions and reforms to the economy

2020-03-29 21:22:21 UTC

To say it is impossible to create such conditions is untrue

2020-03-29 21:22:47 UTC

But the economy, back then, wasn't dependant on the wealthy. Now it is, so it's indeed utopian and unrealistic to implement a 90% tax on the wealthy.

2020-03-29 21:22:56 UTC

Also strategically lame.

2020-03-29 21:23:37 UTC

As i saidd gradual integration is possible

2020-03-29 21:23:47 UTC

If we focus on improving the middle class

2020-03-29 21:23:49 UTC

It is possible

2020-03-29 21:24:00 UTC

No. You'll just get to the point, gradually or not, that the wealthy will leave due to heavy taxation.

2020-03-29 21:24:05 UTC

So?

2020-03-29 21:24:09 UTC

And no they wont

2020-03-29 21:24:11 UTC

50's disprove that

2020-03-29 21:24:13 UTC

So you lose a hell lot of revenue.

2020-03-29 21:24:32 UTC

Fuck the 50's, in the 50's the wealthy had loyalty, were patriots and they were not predatory multinational companies.

2020-03-29 21:24:43 UTC

Which guide America's economy today.

2020-03-29 21:24:49 UTC

And politics, as well.

2020-03-29 21:25:39 UTC

But you make the assumption that is utterly *impossible* to fix these issues.

2020-03-29 21:25:45 UTC

Difficult yes, but impossible? No

2020-03-29 21:26:11 UTC

Today, impossible.

2020-03-29 21:26:26 UTC

What do you mean today?

2020-03-29 21:26:30 UTC

2020's

2020-03-29 21:26:34 UTC

Obviously

2020-03-29 21:26:37 UTC

Do you mean from today to infinity, that is impossible

2020-03-29 21:26:43 UTC

Or that ddoing it in an instant is impossible

2020-03-29 21:26:47 UTC

2020's

2020-03-29 21:26:50 UTC

2020-2029

2020-03-29 21:26:56 UTC

And after?

2020-03-29 21:27:41 UTC

And beyond, until we reach a breaking point which restarts the economy. But it will happen naturally, with the collapse of capitalism. And if you try to break capitalism intentionally in the 2020's, you will find yourself breaking the American economy as well.

2020-03-29 21:28:16 UTC

Not if you make the middle-class powerful again

2020-03-29 21:28:49 UTC

Making it powerful isn't enough. You need to make it WAY more powerful than the upper class.

2020-03-29 21:28:58 UTC

Which is possible

2020-03-29 21:29:29 UTC

How is it possible, then?

2020-03-29 21:29:32 UTC

Not even "possible", that implies chance. It is 100% doable.

2020-03-29 21:29:45 UTC

How is it 100% doable, then?

2020-03-29 21:30:03 UTC

There are a plethora of things which we need to fixed. But for a start

2020-03-29 21:30:57 UTC

Reduce or Ban corporate influence in politics
Ban funding for elections - all funding is public (like nations in the EU, each party gets a certain amount of money from the government to campaign)

2020-03-29 21:32:02 UTC

Banning corporate influence in politics will lead into some, if not most, corporations leaving the country. Not to mention that today, the corporations rule the politics of China, the USA, and many other nations.

2020-03-29 21:32:06 UTC

Do continue.

2020-03-29 21:32:32 UTC

There is no evidence that banning corporate influence in politics will lead to most corporations leaving the country

2020-03-29 21:33:24 UTC

Increase the Federal Minimum Wage to match inflation and buying power. Force price restrictions to ensure companies do not raise prices in response. Any company that attempts to raise prices is threatened with nationalization.
