Claiming we have no duty to govern based on God's law is a heresy

2020-03-11 01:06:19 UTC

I disagree that we have any imperative to establish a state, if you disagree can you show me where in the Bible Christians are told they must establish a state?

2020-03-11 01:07:13 UTC

And our binding law is the law of Christ and He demands us to love and to spread the gospel, not establish a utopian theocracy.

2020-03-11 01:07:59 UTC

Where in the bible is sola scriptura?

2020-03-11 01:08:31 UTC

Alright, would you like to scroll up and read what I wrote to Ofvo about that?

2020-03-11 01:08:56 UTC

It has a basis in the bible, and in natural law

2020-03-11 01:08:59 UTC

That's my point

2020-03-11 01:09:00 UTC

Even if Sola Scriptura is not valid, you still have to have within your own Church doctrine an imperative to establish a state.

2020-03-11 01:09:10 UTC

From that we derive the infallible tradition

2020-03-11 01:09:45 UTC

The one holy Apostolic church established by Christ gives us the magisterium

2020-03-11 01:09:53 UTC

If you as a Catholic have an imperative within your catechism which demands a state then so be it, I of course disagree with the Catholic church but that's not very relevant.

2020-03-11 01:10:31 UTC

It is, debate me on Catholicism

2020-03-11 01:10:54 UTC

I don't have the time for that tonight

2020-03-11 01:11:13 UTC

I just converted an Anglican today, what are you? A baptist or non denom

2020-03-11 01:11:18 UTC

Or such

2020-03-11 01:11:18 UTC

Baptist

2020-03-11 01:11:24 UTC

I used to be a Baptist

2020-03-11 01:11:38 UTC

neat

2020-03-11 01:12:10 UTC

Is it a Catholic position that Christians have a duty to establish a state?

2020-03-11 01:13:17 UTC

It is an error to say that we should not govern based on Christ. And we have an imperative to vote when offered, and to get involved in charities and such.

2020-03-11 01:13:17 UTC

@Eoppa Roman or orthodox

2020-03-11 01:13:20 UTC

Roman

2020-03-11 01:13:30 UTC

Interesting

2020-03-11 01:13:41 UTC

I’ve swayed between Roman and orthodox

2020-03-11 01:13:50 UTC

Been meaning to talk to some priests for guidance

2020-03-11 01:13:54 UTC

"And we have an imperative to vote when offered, and to get involved in charities and such."

I agree with this, as I stated above.

2020-03-11 01:13:56 UTC

what is Anglican?

2020-03-11 01:14:42 UTC

Even the Easterns were clear on this @bittergrapefruit
```“Would heretics dare to come to the very seat of Peter whence apostolic faith is derived and whither no errors can come?" (Epistulae 59 (55), 14, [256 AD]).```
2020-03-11 01:14:44 UTC
And I never said that if we do have the opportunity to govern that we shouldn't base it on Christian morality, I simply do not think that Christians have to do this in the same way that they have to love one another.
2020-03-11 01:15:07 UTC
Anglican is a schism from the Catholic church, under the Church of England
2020-03-11 01:15:18 UTC
Honestly, not debate is needed.
I’ve begun to prefer simply just ignoring the denominational differences on the right, so long as they are semi-Christian.
2020-03-11 01:15:28 UTC
I’d prefer they be high-church, ideally.
2020-03-11 01:15:34 UTC
What is the right without Christ
2020-03-11 01:15:51 UTC
But we don’t need to divide the Christian Right, since it’s weak enough already. As it’s best we don’t include Volkish tards.
2020-03-11 01:15:55 UTC
And what is a Christian without the church
2020-03-11 01:16:06 UTC
You could be right and support Christian morality without being a Christian
2020-03-11 01:16:07 UTC
Well, the right without Christ is what it mostly is right now.
2020-03-11 01:16:23 UTC
Faith is a blessing
2020-03-11 01:16:30 UTC
Generally speaking it makes a god out of freemasonry.
2020-03-11 01:16:34 UTC
Or worse Judaism, lol
2020-03-11 01:16:46 UTC
@Oboe everything we ought to do is out of love, that's not a critique of what I say
