Claiming we have no duty to govern based on God's law is a heresy
I disagree that we have any imperative to establish a state, if you disagree can you show me where in the Bible Christians are told they must establish a state?
And our binding law is the law of Christ and He demands us to love and to spread the gospel, not establish a utopian theocracy.
Where in the bible is sola scriptura?
Alright, would you like to scroll up and read what I wrote to Ofvo about that?
It has a basis in the bible, and in natural law
That's my point
Even if Sola Scriptura is not valid, you still have to have within your own Church doctrine an imperative to establish a state.
From that we derive the infallible tradition
The one holy Apostolic church established by Christ gives us the magisterium
If you as a Catholic have an imperative within your catechism which demands a state then so be it, I of course disagree with the Catholic church but that's not very relevant.
It is, debate me on Catholicism
I don't have the time for that tonight
I just converted an Anglican today, what are you? A baptist or non denom
Or such
Baptist
I used to be a Baptist
neat
Is it a Catholic position that Christians have a duty to establish a state?
It is an error to say that we should not govern based on Christ. And we have an imperative to vote when offered, and to get involved in charities and such.
Roman
Interesting
I’ve swayed between Roman and orthodox
Been meaning to talk to some priests for guidance
"And we have an imperative to vote when offered, and to get involved in charities and such."
I agree with this, as I stated above.
what is Anglican?
Even the Easterns were clear on this @bittergrapefruit
```“Would heretics dare to come to the very seat of Peter whence apostolic faith is derived and whither no errors can come?" (Epistulae 59 (55), 14, [256 AD]).```
And I never said that if we do have the opportunity to govern that we shouldn't base it on Christian morality, I simply do not think that Christians have to do this in the same way that they have to love one another.
Anglican is a schism from the Catholic church, under the Church of England
Honestly, not debate is needed.
I’ve begun to prefer simply just ignoring the denominational differences on the right, so long as they are semi-Christian.
I’d prefer they be high-church, ideally.
What is the right without Christ
But we don’t need to divide the Christian Right, since it’s weak enough already. As it’s best we don’t include Volkish tards.
And what is a Christian without the church
You could be right and support Christian morality without being a Christian
Well, the right without Christ is what it mostly is right now.
Faith is a blessing
Generally speaking it makes a god out of freemasonry.
Or worse Judaism, lol
