It could be. As far as I know absolutely no one in my family is of that faith.
There are certain objective truths; the rest are subjective. Morality is 100% subjective. i don't have the time to elaborate any further, but if you scroll up, you'll find a debate I've had with some other guy on the same topic.
I ain't no expert. But arent Jewish people very religious? They got their own holy books and all that.
they are as religious as satanists because they literally are
I should also clarify. I ain't catholic now. I believe there is some sort of higher power but I cant say if it's a particular god.
It could be even something beyond my comprehension.
Jewish people are both an ethnicity and a religion
Ah.
Would you also agree I have a Jewish outlook?
@21ooAB If I am raised in a culture that finds raping and eating babies alive good, and I agree with it, then for me, it's not evil. Therefore morality is subjective.
That culture should be destroyed
I don't care if you think it should be destroyed or not.
That doesn't make morality any more objective.
As should you
I always question my beliefs, and so should you.
Imagine not believing what you deem evil isn't objectively evil
The idea that nothing can be held sacred
I don't
is erratic deconstructionism
really care
About you believing that what's evil for you is objectively evil
Because what you believe isn't necessarily what's going on.
I cannot process the idea of not believing you're ideas are absolutely true anymore. I'm at the point that I find dogma and extremism to be positive forces for society
If you're at the point of extremism, absolutism and dogmatism, then your beliefs are very well justified. Only one who are all these three could object to the subjectivity of morality.
But if you're all three of these, why bother conversating with others?
I was gonna say.
If you only see your own beliefs as true then what's the point.
You are free to do so. But I wont convert to your way of thinking.
I never expected such
For anyone really
I just think if you believe in something you should seek to install those beliefs on society
In my opinion such strong beliefs simply make it easier to control and manipulate.
Enforcing your will on others is one unnecessary evil for most moralities.
no matter what they are
So you deem the need/will of a psychopath to instill their psychopathic beliefs on the society they lives in, as something good?
