It could be. As far as I know absolutely no one in my family is of that faith.

2020-03-15 20:49:22 UTC

There are certain objective truths; the rest are subjective. Morality is 100% subjective. i don't have the time to elaborate any further, but if you scroll up, you'll find a debate I've had with some other guy on the same topic.

2020-03-15 20:50:10 UTC

I ain't no expert. But arent Jewish people very religious? They got their own holy books and all that.

2020-03-15 20:50:39 UTC

they are as religious as satanists because they literally are

2020-03-15 20:50:54 UTC

@Koninos How is raping and eating a baby alive not objectively evil?

2020-03-15 20:50:55 UTC

I should also clarify. I ain't catholic now. I believe there is some sort of higher power but I cant say if it's a particular god.

2020-03-15 20:51:21 UTC

It could be even something beyond my comprehension.

2020-03-15 20:51:24 UTC

Jewish people are both an ethnicity and a religion

2020-03-15 20:51:52 UTC

Ah.

2020-03-15 20:52:04 UTC

Would you also agree I have a Jewish outlook?

2020-03-15 21:01:22 UTC

@21ooAB If I am raised in a culture that finds raping and eating babies alive good, and I agree with it, then for me, it's not evil. Therefore morality is subjective.

2020-03-15 21:01:35 UTC

@Koninos I disagree

2020-03-15 21:01:40 UTC

That culture should be destroyed

2020-03-15 21:01:52 UTC

I don't care if you think it should be destroyed or not.

2020-03-15 21:01:59 UTC

That doesn't make morality any more objective.

2020-03-15 21:02:06 UTC

@Koninos I assume my beliefs are right no matter what

2020-03-15 21:02:08 UTC

As should you

2020-03-15 21:02:22 UTC

I always question my beliefs, and so should you.

2020-03-15 21:02:26 UTC

Imagine not believing what you deem evil isn't objectively evil

2020-03-15 21:02:35 UTC

The idea that nothing can be held sacred

2020-03-15 21:02:39 UTC

and that all should be questioned

2020-03-15 21:02:44 UTC

I don't

2020-03-15 21:02:45 UTC

is erratic deconstructionism

2020-03-15 21:02:46 UTC

really care

2020-03-15 21:02:57 UTC

About you believing that what's evil for you is objectively evil

2020-03-15 21:03:07 UTC

Because what you believe isn't necessarily what's going on.

2020-03-15 21:04:08 UTC

I cannot process the idea of not believing you're ideas are absolutely true anymore. I'm at the point that I find dogma and extremism to be positive forces for society

2020-03-15 21:05:56 UTC

If you're at the point of extremism, absolutism and dogmatism, then your beliefs are very well justified. Only one who are all these three could object to the subjectivity of morality.

2020-03-15 21:06:21 UTC

But if you're all three of these, why bother conversating with others?

2020-03-15 21:06:47 UTC

I was gonna say.

2020-03-15 21:06:59 UTC

If you only see your own beliefs as true then what's the point.

2020-03-15 21:07:11 UTC

@Memovita Its called enforcing my will on others

2020-03-15 21:07:29 UTC

You are free to do so. But I wont convert to your way of thinking.

2020-03-15 21:07:35 UTC

I never expected such

2020-03-15 21:07:44 UTC

For anyone really

2020-03-15 21:08:01 UTC

I just think if you believe in something you should seek to install those beliefs on society

2020-03-15 21:08:02 UTC

In my opinion such strong beliefs simply make it easier to control and manipulate.

2020-03-15 21:08:03 UTC

Enforcing your will on others is one unnecessary evil for most moralities.

2020-03-15 21:08:04 UTC

no matter what they are

2020-03-15 21:09:35 UTC

So you deem the need/will of a psychopath to instill their psychopathic beliefs on the society they lives in, as something good?
