like other moderns, he still too radically departs from aristotelianism

I was reading a few articles on coronavirus, and I read that in Greece, the cases reached 40+ due to a group of people visiting the Holy Mount of Athos. The group had recently traveled to Israel and Egypt, and got infected from there. Then, through a Divine Liturgy ritual, they infected whoever tasted the wine, due to the same spoon being used for everyone. Now there's a debate going on in Greece, I read, with the Priests saying that the spoon is holy, and that it's impossible for people to get infected through Divine Liturgy. Do you guys think the spoon is actually holy?

2020-03-08 14:29:11 UTC

@Koninos
"All hail the holy spoon"

2020-03-08 14:56:05 UTC

To me, it's a matter of not tempting God

2020-03-08 15:43:07 UTC

Ah yes, but those who are motivated by the fear of the material threats they face surely must not have true and undying faith in the promise of salvation afterwards. If we're judged by the content of our hearts then surely our intentions and their consequences are witnessed by God as well.

If you follow Jesus and his teachings because you are afraid of going to hell, doesn't that miss the point entirely? How can you be saved if you live by the letter but not the spirit of the law?

2020-03-08 15:51:23 UTC

Who is that addressed to?

2020-03-08 15:57:16 UTC

Sometimes I find myself mulling over questions within myself and put it out there to see if it resonates with other people. Right now I'm just mulling over the question as to whether or not the ultimate conclusion of Christianity is treating this life as a test and fallling on your own sword to secure salvation.

2020-03-08 16:56:37 UTC

Oh, got you

2020-03-08 16:57:21 UTC

I think I can agree with you. We should not be motivated by fear of hell, but by love of God, and His creation, which He loves

2020-03-08 16:58:41 UTC

Fear of hell is a healthy thing, I did one of my best deeds out of it, I think. It should not make up all our faith, however. When you have it after committing a grievous sin, that's another matter.

2020-03-08 17:29:40 UTC

I guess the best thing you can do is to live like you're deathless and don't be a slave to the material.

2020-03-08 17:30:18 UTC

Don't run after martyrdom but recognize that death comes for us all and it probably isn't the end.

2020-03-08 17:31:13 UTC

Don't make the wrong things shine with meaning to you and try to avoid becoming a monster in your pursuit of them.

2020-03-08 17:33:49 UTC

Your thoughts are false until you act on them and make them real: how people react to you is the abyss staring back until yourself become that very abyss in a state of reactive jubilation. Through compensating for suffering through seeing the humor in it you have become someone who takes pleasure in suffering

2020-03-08 18:12:51 UTC

The Eucharist retains the physical accidents of the bread and the wine, I see no reason why it's *impossible* to get sick. However the CDC issued this statement ```No episode of disease attributable to the shared communion cup has ever been reported. Currently available data do not provide any support for suggesting that the practice of sharing a common communion cup should be abandoned because it might spread infection```

2020-03-08 18:13:06 UTC

It's a very low, near zero risk anyways

2020-03-08 18:47:42 UTC

We couldn't give eachother the "peace be with you"

2020-03-08 19:01:51 UTC

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

2020-03-08 19:02:39 UTC

Not that

2020-03-08 19:02:53 UTC

You know the "Peace be with you" during a mass?

2020-03-08 19:03:11 UTC

I know, but sometimes I wonder if the worship of the "prince of peace" is actually antichrist worship

2020-03-08 19:03:45 UTC

Because Christ explicitly said he wasn't here for that and we seem to focus ourselves around that concept through the ritual of the mass.

2020-03-08 19:06:38 UTC

Christ was suffering from schizophrenia.

2020-03-08 19:07:18 UTC

How would you call someone who claimed that they're the Messiah and the God on Earth?

2020-03-08 19:07:30 UTC

And the ***King of Jews.***

2020-03-08 19:10:33 UTC

The King of the Jews title was given to him by the 3 Magi, the Romans, and many others

2020-03-08 19:12:59 UTC

I don't really care.

2020-03-08 19:13:14 UTC

What would you call them?

2020-03-08 19:14:14 UTC

jesus wasnt a jew

2020-03-08 19:14:35 UTC

like im not a christcuk but to say jesus was a jew is like saying mohammed was an aboriginal

2020-03-08 19:14:38 UTC

its just a lie

2020-03-08 19:15:45 UTC

@Koninos You clearly cared enough to spout your opinion here

2020-03-08 19:15:45 UTC

I didn't say that he was a Jew, and I don't care if he was, but some gave him the title of the "King of Jews." A King of a nation doesn't necessarily need to be of the nationality of the nation they rule.

2020-03-08 19:16:01 UTC

@Florida Man I don't care about your claim.

2020-03-08 19:16:16 UTC

Because my point still stands.

2020-03-08 19:16:21 UTC

And my question remains unanswered.

2020-03-08 19:16:57 UTC

Well, if he did preform miracles, then I would consider him divine

2020-03-08 19:17:08 UTC

he was

2020-03-08 19:17:13 UTC

nut certainly not a kike
