We manipulate nature to our will

2020-01-07 07:41:49 UTC

If a termite is eating my house

2020-01-07 07:41:52 UTC

It is a threat

2020-01-07 07:41:56 UTC

And should be killed

2020-01-07 07:42:05 UTC

“Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your judgments are like the great deep; you save humans and animals alike, O Lord.” —Psalms 36:6

2020-01-07 07:42:18 UTC

Human and Animal alike

2020-01-07 07:42:27 UTC

Humans are literally above Animals

2020-01-07 07:42:47 UTC

Genesis 9:2

And a Termite eating your house is not a threat to you. A threat would be an Animal actively attacking you, a threat to life. In which case self defence is justified. But when there is a merciful alternative, without bloodshed, you find it. To do otherwise is to go against Jesus.

@TaterTot That is a gross and sinful manipulation of scripture of something that applies to humans not animals

2020-01-07 07:44:25 UTC

Nature and animals are subject to us

2020-01-07 07:44:31 UTC

Not the other way around

2020-01-07 07:45:46 UTC

>claims to be Christian
>manipulates scripture

2020-01-07 07:45:49 UTC

🤔

2020-01-07 07:46:11 UTC

You realise Gensis 9:3 is about the sins of man? That we are sickened spiritually and so now eat flesh, are feared by Animals and life and that we are distant from what we should be. Lion and Lamb lay together on the Mountain, before the flood we didn't harm Animals and other life it's said, but afterwards we were scorned and became malicious.

2020-01-07 07:46:23 UTC

I'm not manipulating it, I'm interpreting it in the most peaceful way possible.

2020-01-07 07:46:29 UTC

Instead of trying to justify my own vices.

2020-01-07 07:46:53 UTC

If you think following the letter of the book without striving to be righteous is being Christian, you may aswell be a Jew.

2020-01-07 07:47:17 UTC

No it's not

2020-01-07 07:47:20 UTC

Genesis 9:3

2020-01-07 07:47:21 UTC

2020-01-07 07:47:27 UTC

Are you Eastern Orthodox?

2020-01-07 07:47:28 UTC

9:3 talks about eating them and eating plants

2020-01-07 07:47:34 UTC

Irrelevant?

2020-01-07 07:47:41 UTC

Not irrelevant at all, it's a different orthodoxy.

2020-01-07 07:47:53 UTC

¿

2020-01-07 07:48:33 UTC

I'm a Baptist, but most of my beliefs align with the Lutherans according to people I've spoken to

2020-01-07 07:49:28 UTC

If an alligator entered my home, and was in front of me and I have to make the decision to shoot it or to open a door and try to let it escape

2020-01-07 07:49:30 UTC

I'm shooting it

2020-01-07 07:49:59 UTC

we should strive to be as close to divine as possible. Before we were cast from the Garden we ate only plants, before the flood we ate only plants. After the flood, we ate meat and were feared by Animals because of our malice and cruelty and lack of mercy. So strive to be merciful.

2020-01-07 07:50:10 UTC

And that's a different scenario, in that scenario you could be in mortal danger.

2020-01-07 07:50:19 UTC

Where does it say we only ate plants?

2020-01-07 07:50:43 UTC

Genesis 1:29

2020-01-07 07:50:44 UTC

2020-01-07 07:51:14 UTC

We only ate meat after the fall

2020-01-07 07:51:17 UTC

I don't see any mention that animals were not allowed to be eaten

2020-01-07 07:51:36 UTC

The fact we only ate flesh after the fall of man.

2020-01-07 07:51:47 UTC

Only?
