how tf both of you remembers the bible so good?
I have it open in a tab.
You are grossly misinterpreting scripture, a sin. Ecclesiastes is talking about the grand picture - that as us humans are the same as animals because we all die a mortal death anyways. We are made distinct by spirituality and the ability to manipulate nature.
It never once says that. Look at the Ebionites, James the Just. They refrained from eating flesh for a reason. Because it was sinful. To harm and kill other living beings. The Bible makes it very clear that all life is holy and of the divine. Only Human beings can be wicked and sinful.
2 Thessalonians 2:3
Humans are allowed to kill animals for a variety of reasons
We have dominion
We manipulate nature to our will
If a termite is eating my house
It is a threat
And should be killed
“Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your judgments are like the great deep; you save humans and animals alike, O Lord.” —Psalms 36:6
Human and Animal alike
Humans are literally above Animals
Genesis 9:2
And a Termite eating your house is not a threat to you. A threat would be an Animal actively attacking you, a threat to life. In which case self defence is justified. But when there is a merciful alternative, without bloodshed, you find it. To do otherwise is to go against Jesus.
Genesis 1:26
@TaterTot That is a gross and sinful manipulation of scripture of something that applies to humans not animals
Nature and animals are subject to us
Not the other way around
>claims to be Christian
>manipulates scripture
🤔
You realise Gensis 9:3 is about the sins of man? That we are sickened spiritually and so now eat flesh, are feared by Animals and life and that we are distant from what we should be. Lion and Lamb lay together on the Mountain, before the flood we didn't harm Animals and other life it's said, but afterwards we were scorned and became malicious.
I'm not manipulating it, I'm interpreting it in the most peaceful way possible.
Instead of trying to justify my own vices.
If you think following the letter of the book without striving to be righteous is being Christian, you may aswell be a Jew.
No it's not
Genesis 9:3
Are you Eastern Orthodox?
9:3 talks about eating them and eating plants
Irrelevant?
Not irrelevant at all, it's a different orthodoxy.
¿
I'm a Baptist, but most of my beliefs align with the Lutherans according to people I've spoken to
If an alligator entered my home, and was in front of me and I have to make the decision to shoot it or to open a door and try to let it escape
I'm shooting it
we should strive to be as close to divine as possible. Before we were cast from the Garden we ate only plants, before the flood we ate only plants. After the flood, we ate meat and were feared by Animals because of our malice and cruelty and lack of mercy. So strive to be merciful.
