what, no. you literally cant be a liberal without being a capitalist you moron. the word liberalism gave birth to the modern use of liberal as a noun

2020-03-15 14:51:12 UTC

You certainly don't know what liberalism is, non-moron.

2020-03-15 14:51:38 UTC

Liberalism is a political and also moral philosophy based on liberty, consent of the governed and equality before the law.

2020-03-15 14:51:44 UTC

Damn, things getting spicy already.

2020-03-15 14:52:06 UTC

Yes, there are many salty and edgy people here, but personally I'm used to them.

2020-03-15 14:52:19 UTC

Well, glad to see your more or less normal.

2020-03-15 14:52:26 UTC

:)

2020-03-15 14:52:34 UTC

The last server mods were very socialist in views.

2020-03-15 14:52:56 UTC

But majority were communists under 18 whose perception of life was shaped by ideals rather than reality.

2020-03-15 14:53:11 UTC

What the fuck does that even mean

2020-03-15 14:53:20 UTC

That's one more or less stable characteristic of all communists, to be honest.

2020-03-15 14:53:23 UTC

"shaped by ideals rather than reality"
Libertarianism basses itself off of ideals lol

2020-03-15 14:53:40 UTC

I think America is very conservative. I grew up in a Italian/ Hispanic ghettoe, so most of the people had traditional values there.

2020-03-15 14:53:43 UTC

Ideals which are very close to reality, and can be very well achieved.

2020-03-15 14:54:01 UTC

What does "very close to reality" mean

2020-03-15 14:54:13 UTC

I'm not so sure about that, tbh. It depends on the state. @Greg Noir

2020-03-15 14:54:22 UTC

New York isn't conservative at all.

2020-03-15 14:54:31 UTC

And Americans in general are more or less... mixed, let's say.

2020-03-15 14:54:31 UTC

Right, like I know New York permits gay marriage.

2020-03-15 14:54:32 UTC

I heard the bigger cities were pretty left.

2020-03-15 14:54:41 UTC

they are

2020-03-15 14:54:43 UTC

Yes, it's true.

2020-03-15 14:55:04 UTC

But dont know much about American politics.

2020-03-15 14:55:49 UTC

To what extension do you think Liberty was meant by the founding fathers?

2020-03-15 14:56:15 UTC

Anyway, there was one specific thing I wanted to discuss by joining this server. Not necessarily reaffirm myself but more to get a perspective from the other side.

2020-03-15 14:56:44 UTC

@Memovita That's the Presidential Election Map of 2016. As you can see, most big cities voted for Hillary.

2020-03-15 14:56:58 UTC

And what is that thing?

2020-03-15 14:57:13 UTC

It has to do with immigration within my current place of Canada.

2020-03-15 14:57:22 UTC

Interesting. Yet, Trump still somehow won the general election?

2020-03-15 14:57:36 UTC

@Greg Noir electoral college

2020-03-15 14:57:42 UTC

Oh.

2020-03-15 14:57:48 UTC

in terms of numbers hillary won by over 2 million

2020-03-15 14:58:04 UTC

@Memovita How are things with immigration there?

2020-03-15 14:58:33 UTC

Well, this opinion got me called an ethnostate racist. So I'm guessing it ain't the nicest outlook.

2020-03-15 14:58:53 UTC

But I'm very open to having my mind changed.

2020-03-15 14:59:57 UTC

Well, I mean immigration is good only when it benefits the state, obviously. But I haven't read enough about Canada and immigration to Canada to judge whether Canada's policies on immigration are right or wrong.

2020-03-15 15:00:15 UTC

But you're free to state your opinion in this server, as long as it doesn't violate Discord's ToS.

2020-03-15 15:00:41 UTC

Alright. Heres fine? Or is there a place for these sorts things.

2020-03-15 15:01:09 UTC

just say it ffs

2020-03-15 15:01:15 UTC

It's fine here.

2020-03-15 15:01:27 UTC

it's fine anywhere tbh.
