one of my players has a broken leg and they are stuck in the middle of the forest. should healing spells be able to heal broken bone? or healing potions for that matter? or do they need more powerful magic, or something else? @Dust @galesteppes

magical healing mends bones

2020-02-20 10:04:35 UTC

frfr?

2020-02-20 10:04:37 UTC

hmmm

2020-02-20 10:04:42 UTC

is potions magic healing?

2020-02-20 10:04:54 UTC

yeah

2020-02-20 10:04:58 UTC

I'm not saying it's right

2020-02-20 10:05:22 UTC

but RAW magical healing basically fixes everything lol

2020-02-20 10:06:02 UTC

hmmmmm

2020-02-20 10:06:09 UTC

actual loss of limb would be handled differently

2020-02-20 10:06:22 UTC

yes that I know. requires pretty darn strong magic

2020-02-20 10:06:24 UTC

but hmm

2020-02-20 10:06:42 UTC

I wanted this to be a cumbersome problme

2020-02-20 10:06:53 UTC

obvious solution would be to fix the broken bone but give dex and str damage

2020-02-20 10:06:57 UTC

not just something they can fix at a whim, there should be stakes at play

2020-02-20 10:07:03 UTC

ohhh thats smart

2020-02-20 10:07:36 UTC

10ft less movement speed maybe

2020-02-20 10:07:36 UTC

cuz atm their idea is to maybe give him a makeshift splint, and I'll half his speed and give him disadvantage on dexterity checks until they get to the big city

2020-02-20 10:07:51 UTC

yeah that sounds pretty good

2020-02-20 10:07:52 UTC

hmmm yes that could be good

2020-02-20 10:08:01 UTC

I forget 5e has advantage

2020-02-20 10:08:07 UTC

yesss

2020-02-20 10:08:29 UTC

its a pretty homebrew game tbh. there are some things I detest with 5e, like the skills.

2020-02-20 10:08:36 UTC

pathfinder and 3,5 handle skills sooooo much better

2020-02-20 10:08:38 UTC

so yeah disadvantage on all dex rolls and half speed until a week of rest or something

2020-02-20 10:08:48 UTC

yes that could be good

2020-02-20 10:09:09 UTC

lol bro 4e was a huge fuckin mess

2020-02-20 10:09:26 UTC

never played it

2020-02-20 10:09:34 UTC

just heard horror stories on how bad the game is ahahahahahah

2020-02-20 10:10:45 UTC

4e was my first ever d&d experience

2020-02-20 10:10:47 UTC

I thought about adding shit like sub skills into 5e. kinda revamp how skills work rn

2020-02-20 10:11:07 UTC

skill specialisation is a cool concept

2020-02-20 10:11:22 UTC

say you had blade weapons with subtype heavy

2020-02-20 10:11:23 UTC

yeah. that was what I really liked about 3.5

2020-02-20 10:11:36 UTC

oh yeah weapon spec is also cool

2020-02-20 10:11:48 UTC

I have a concept idea working with my mate based on a homebrew pdf we found

2020-02-20 10:11:53 UTC

specialise into blade (heavy) and you get a bonus (or don't get a negative) for that subtype but you can still use other blades

2020-02-20 10:12:04 UTC

cuz like, someone who uses swords all day every day, why the fuck could they use a trident?

2020-02-20 10:12:22 UTC

someone who uses a greatsword, how the fuck could they know how to effectivally use a rapier?

2020-02-20 10:12:23 UTC

that shit

2020-02-20 10:12:54 UTC

yeah
