Thats um lovely Sweater

2019-01-09 23:53:22 UTC

nah its just you dont fuck one chip and you are the master of oc now and anyone can do it somehow with no issues

2019-01-09 23:53:31 UTC

when ive seen plenty of parts fry out premature

2019-01-09 23:53:33 UTC

when did i say anyone can do it somehow with no issues

2019-01-09 23:53:35 UTC

@Limmat would you oc a 1080

2019-01-09 23:53:54 UTC

you implied no worries to oc and its normal to do with any k processor cause reasons

2019-01-09 23:53:54 UTC

Just get your gpu stock overclocked

2019-01-09 23:53:57 UTC

probably not cuz i'd get plenty of performance out of it

2019-01-09 23:54:00 UTC

why would you overclock a 1080

2019-01-09 23:54:01 UTC

Anyway i am taking no chances with my next build, getting a cit case with 6 fans and buying a watercooler for my cpu.

2019-01-09 23:54:10 UTC

well it kinda is, that's what intel turbo is

2019-01-09 23:54:19 UTC

>gets watercooler
> leaks over new gpu

2019-01-09 23:54:19 UTC

Wait so hold on

2019-01-09 23:54:20 UTC

isn't 6 fans and a water cooler a tad overkill?

2019-01-09 23:54:24 UTC

aye, spork's got it, if you wanna really overclock, get it OEM or Manufacturer OC'd

2019-01-09 23:54:27 UTC

Its already stock OC'd

2019-01-09 23:54:31 UTC

@TheBigMandont even jinx it

2019-01-09 23:54:31 UTC

the difference in oc isnt worth the risk to the processor

2019-01-09 23:54:33 UTC

And you OC'd it more?

2019-01-09 23:54:36 UTC

Oooooooooof

2019-01-09 23:54:49 UTC

happend to my brother, wasn't covered in warranty

2019-01-09 23:54:51 UTC

and over time it wears it out

2019-01-09 23:54:56 UTC

3.6 is the stock on mine, 4.3 is the boost clock, 4.7 is my OC

2019-01-09 23:54:57 UTC

then he killed himself

2019-01-09 23:54:57 UTC

*over time*

2019-01-09 23:55:04 UTC

Founders edition if for nerds anyway @Potato Man

2019-01-09 23:55:06 UTC

My room gets hot in the summer i dont want to risk overheating.

2019-01-09 23:55:17 UTC

its like putting a turbo on a car..... if the engine wasnt turbod from the factory its bad for it over time even when its stable

2019-01-09 23:55:22 UTC

you wear out parts

2019-01-09 23:55:30 UTC

Do you not live by yourself potato? could you not simply turn the AC on?

2019-01-09 23:55:31 UTC

@sweatercowsandsass CPU's come with profiles that you access in the bios, usually called 'boost' which is essentially a manufacturer approved OC

2019-01-09 23:55:36 UTC

^

2019-01-09 23:55:37 UTC

@The Last MethBender while you’re at it, toss it in the fridge just in case

2019-01-09 23:55:39 UTC

@Potato Man yep, i am aware

2019-01-09 23:55:42 UTC

But still

2019-01-09 23:55:42 UTC

we arent talking about those

2019-01-09 23:55:54 UTC

just be rich and buy new parts when old ones break lmao

2019-01-09 23:55:56 UTC

Usually it's only like 10% though.

2019-01-09 23:56:04 UTC

yah its 10% max

2019-01-09 23:56:13 UTC

Its a glass case with 6 fans

2019-01-09 23:56:14 UTC

If your CPU has a K and your mobo supports it the OC it if you wish. If you want an OC’d gpu just get a 3rd party one
