exactly, they need our trade more then we need theirs

2019-01-17 19:09:32 UTC

eu was milking yall for money anyway

2019-01-17 19:09:34 UTC

it'll hurt the worst off for a good few years if we crash out with no deal

2019-01-17 19:09:48 UTC

explain why

2019-01-17 19:09:51 UTC

compared to what was on offer i disagree

2019-01-17 19:09:59 UTC

i dont want to hear itll hurt with no data

2019-01-17 19:10:12 UTC

There seems to be very little data on any of it.

2019-01-17 19:10:12 UTC

Owwie it hurts

2019-01-17 19:10:12 UTC

thats scare tactics

2019-01-17 19:10:15 UTC

For or against.

2019-01-17 19:10:19 UTC

i find that kinda hard to justify, it's mostly like telling the guards of a nightclub that your mate needs a break, then when they are throwing him out you didn't realise he would be barred for the rest of the evening but you try to take back what you said.

2019-01-17 19:10:40 UTC

every single prediction about its effects have been completely the opposite of what they forecasted

Tariffs on UK-EU exports under WTO rules
14.Individual tariffs vary between different sectors and products. For non-agricultural goods, the average tariffs are relatively small. However, tariffs on agricultural goods are typically much higher, with the intention of protecting domestic markets.

15.The average EU tariff on dairy products is over 30%, while tariffs could be as high as 87% for frozen beef. Some other examples include a tariff of 46% for cheese or 21% for tomatoes. Some individual products have tariffs over 100%.5

2019-01-17 19:10:59 UTC

I say we let it flow its course for now

2019-01-17 19:11:11 UTC

No revote because we already voted

2019-01-17 19:11:18 UTC

poor ppl still gotta eat and tariffs for food under WTO are severe

2019-01-17 19:11:26 UTC

so tariffs might go up on ag

2019-01-17 19:11:28 UTC

and?

2019-01-17 19:11:31 UTC

Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist but they did verify the Russians weren't fucking with shit again during the vote right?

2019-01-17 19:11:39 UTC

no

2019-01-17 19:11:43 UTC

the eu needs your goods more than you need theirs

2019-01-17 19:11:57 UTC

can't the uk feed itself?

2019-01-17 19:11:59 UTC

supply and demand?

2019-01-17 19:12:03 UTC

The UK fucked it because the govt got cocky thinking it'll never happen, and when it did appointed remainers to do the deal, whilst spending the first year basically arguing over a done deal. That made us look weak instead of actually waving our united dick around as one of the biggest participants worth 19 other countries.

2019-01-17 19:12:03 UTC

if they put up the price then we shop elsewhere

2019-01-17 19:12:03 UTC

Why would the russians mess with superior brit politics

2019-01-17 19:12:03 UTC

they still have plenty of nearby countries to buy produce from T

2019-01-17 19:12:25 UTC

so which industries will crash?

2019-01-17 19:12:32 UTC

food sales will slow

2019-01-17 19:12:33 UTC

None

2019-01-17 19:12:33 UTC

So we do what we did pre EU, produce at home and sell at home. Seasonal produce can be imported from outside the EU

2019-01-17 19:12:34 UTC

whoopie

2019-01-17 19:12:47 UTC

Why would the Russians mess with anything? To cause discord in democracies and weaken opposition to them.

2019-01-17 19:12:50 UTC

i didn't say an industry would crash

2019-01-17 19:12:59 UTC

then where is the uproar on hurt?

2019-01-17 19:13:00 UTC

we will adjust and adapt like we do with every other thing

2019-01-17 19:13:03 UTC

i said poor ppl would be most hurt

2019-01-17 19:13:05 UTC

After a hard brexit the uk could recover from economic difficulties pretty quickly

2019-01-17 19:13:08 UTC

@dremthatgeek who the fuck are you talking to

2019-01-17 19:13:08 UTC

which is true under WTO
