Why serotonin syndrome

I was writing a paper on a drug and one of the side effects was inhibition of monoamine oxidase production

Which oxodizes serotonin so that it doesn't linger

So one of the issues that came up was interactions with antidepressants

And how it can cause serotonin syndrome

Which can lead to some pretty nasty stuff

The majority of serotonin syndrome is caused by the medication they are on what is the major cause anti depressants?

Overdosing antidepressants typically

One of the cases that was part of a study was a guy who decided it would be a great idea to mix the 2 as he was enjoying the high

And ended up going insane in about 6 days before dying

I've been on so many different anti depressants don't even bother with anything anymore

I'm sure he was probably dosing higher with whatever the hell else he had moreso though
