The headline is Trump will double, then it mentions him increasing it by 5T, and then 8T.

And stating he will increase it to 25T, that's not doubling, that's a 1/5th of the national debt.

Doubling it would put it around somewhere between 40-43T.

It's clickbait, it wants to get your attention, uninformed people don't read articles, they care more about an intriguing headline, the first paragraph already contradicts it's own headline, they're not even trying.

In **FOUR** years he will add `$8.3 trillion`

He will essentially double our debt over 8 years

Do you get it now?

Based upon the standard set in his own dumbass statements, he will nearly double our debt.

Liquidate all 401(k) assets and we can slow the deficit lol

But it even says, 'Instead of eliminating the debt, Trump will add 5.6T.

In the sub-headline.

And it states Trump will add 8.3T in four years, increasing it to 25T, when it would increase it to somewhere around 30T instead.

If you read the entire article, you would understand where the 5.6T figure is coming from.

But it's already stated 2 different things already, if I am trying to understand where a 5.6T figure is coming from, why would it mention an increase of 8.3T in four years, that would equal to around 16-17T in 8 years, which is nowhere near 5.6T.

If I spell this out for you, will it make a difference?

The 5.6 is the amount that had been added to the debt at the time of the article being written. Is it a shitty title? Yeah. However, it is not "fake news."
