which is sometimes necessary practically or else everyone just dies (like national defense) but most times (especially in controversial issues) it's best imo to limit government spending

I think you miss the point of money though. The lowest possible amount would be reduced to zero. Prices for everything else would go up negating the effect.

and the only reason I'm not on principle against this is because it makes no sense to build a society off of social darwinism if there are some who could have made it to the top but literally were stopped because of factors other than themselves

so to that extent I'll agree with UBI

but I still think it isn't very smart
