Im the one whos arguing against it if that helps

2020-02-13 00:43:23 UTC

so you don't think there should be a minimum wage at all, or just not an increase in minimum wage?

2020-02-13 00:43:35 UTC

Non at all

2020-02-13 00:43:38 UTC

No minimum wage

2020-02-13 00:43:39 UTC

RETARD

2020-02-13 00:43:41 UTC

lol

2020-02-13 00:43:44 UTC

Gj man

2020-02-13 00:43:49 UTC

U got em there

2020-02-13 00:44:46 UTC

you know what, yes I did. You can't have a functioning work force in a capitalist societywhen the workers aren't being paid

2020-02-13 00:44:56 UTC

We can try discussing the issue again if you want without insults

2020-02-13 00:45:09 UTC

workers arent being paid?

2020-02-13 00:45:09 UTC

at that point there may as well be no companies at all and the entire industry run by government

2020-02-13 00:45:11 UTC

wot

2020-02-13 00:45:17 UTC

>That never happens
>And yes you do
>If 1$ an hour cant pay you enough to live
>You literally couldn't work that job

2020-02-13 00:45:20 UTC

Most fast food places in the US offer barely above minimum wage. They all offer around the same wage of around $9/h. So those first two points mean nothing.

2020-02-13 00:45:35 UTC

@TeletubbyCancer that's what would happen if there was no minimum wage

2020-02-13 00:45:47 UTC

You do know that there are countries without minimum wage right?
That have great economies @Maxsimodem
Are you seriously that clueless about the rest of the world?

2020-02-13 00:45:50 UTC

if companies aren't forced to do something, they won;t do it

2020-02-13 00:46:01 UTC

Plenty of people work jobs that don't pay them enough. 70% of Americans work for 30k a year or less. Most live paycheck to paycheck.

2020-02-13 00:46:19 UTC

My yearly income is $14k CAD.

2020-02-13 00:46:27 UTC

@Dragun9500 is there any other way to live though? I probably won't see it

2020-02-13 00:46:32 UTC

If you're theory were correct then everyone in a country with minmum wage would only be paid minimum wage

2020-02-13 00:46:41 UTC

As the company isnt forced to pay above minimum wage

2020-02-13 00:46:46 UTC

So why pay above

2020-02-13 00:46:56 UTC

Because that encourages people to work there.

2020-02-13 00:46:57 UTC

I made 19k last year working my fingers to the bone in that plant, that is nowhere near a living wage.

2020-02-13 00:47:07 UTC

Ok?

2020-02-13 00:47:13 UTC

19000 pounds?

2020-02-13 00:47:15 UTC

Dollars

2020-02-13 00:47:18 UTC

CAD

2020-02-13 00:47:22 UTC

19k in most countries gets you by

2020-02-13 00:47:29 UTC

fairly alright

2020-02-13 00:47:30 UTC

yeah, gets you by

2020-02-13 00:47:32 UTC

yeah

2020-02-13 00:47:37 UTC

not with any standard of living though

2020-02-13 00:47:44 UTC

If I could make $20 an hour flipping burgers why would I want to work as a paramedic for the same price?

2020-02-13 00:47:45 UTC

Define your standard of living

2020-02-13 00:47:55 UTC

I also live in the third most expensive city in Canada, which is a sacrifice I have to make to actually live close to my family, since my entire family is here.

2020-02-13 00:48:01 UTC

Dragun youre just proving my point i dont get you

2020-02-13 00:48:04 UTC

@Dragun9500 I agree with you but where did that come from lol

2020-02-13 00:48:15 UTC

having a working car that isn't at risk of falling apart on the road comes to mind,
