and I know I do it well- I know I have a great story in me- and it's finally coming out. It's very exciting for me.
Almost derrr
I’m so glad that you get to work on something that you are enthusiastic and care about
The world I am creating is massive. I would refer to G R Martin- the guy who wrote Game of Thrones- he only writes when it comes to him, he doesn't force it. So he takes years to get an amazing story out. He doesn't force it. I am unfortunately the same way. I cannot force inspiration nor follow a model and run books out at a speedy pace.
So this project will be at least a decade
good luck with that man
Sounds like a real epic!!!!!
ohh it is.
dauntingly so
but it screams at me to create it
Sorry to change the topic here - I look forward to learning more about your magnum opus - but like,, It’s always struck me as odd that adults recommend that children (dis) engage bullies in real life the same way that one might deal with a person being an anonymous nuisance.
Whereas simply adopting a policy of not engaging works fine online it just isn’t a realistic attitude towards antagonistic people in the physical plane
oh no, confront you bullies. Either out smart them or out maneuver them. Any way to get out of the situation without anyone getting seriously injured.
I can’t help but wonder why the advice is so bad when it comes to dealing with IRL kids being bullies
I agree!!
I'm glad you agree bc that is how I'll be teaching my progeny lol.
something I said to the kids I was looking after last year is that if adults refuse to take a situation in which you are being bullied seriously, sometimes you really have to Square Up and make a scene about it
A lot of the ‘consequences’ of such actions really don’t mean a thing
and also, it's better to solve your own problems. Bullies are our first introduction to how cruel humanity can be- so better than always running to an adult once you're a certain age- also the bully might not be in a governed setting like a school. So teaching your children how to maneuver throughout different parts of humanity make them more stable and more successful minded.
and when they fail they learn hopefully lol
before the internet that's how it was
that makes me sound old lol
but it's true
Like what’s crazy is that with all the fuss people were making about cyber bullying back when i was in secondary school it was actually a problem that had barely even begun to exist
It frustrates me greatly that the advice for irl bullying was so,,,,, off base I guess
No joke first year of secondary school a pair of girls used my leg as a pincushion one time and were only suspended for like a week
What kind of example is that setting??????
IKR!!
that is when you get an adult.
you must learn how to solve your own problems but adults must also be vigilant
that is what elders are for
they are not their to solve all your problems but they are there when you need help
there*
Tbh I thought they did a bad job of settling my situation. It set me up to continually seek outside help to solve my issues as a kid and I only figured out how to be more self reliant when I changed school later down the line and had better teachers
Ah well
You play any vidya gaems? I know there are fans of rededemption here
Oh, Dying light, DMC franchise, Resident Evil Franchise, Fatal frame franchise (they need to do remakes of that one. So good.) A lot of horror and fantasy.
I am a prolific gamer
yeah those were bad teachers.
I was told to fight back as a kid
