I mean, he gets paid.

2020-01-16 21:34:21 UTC

That's all most lawyers care about

2020-01-16 21:34:40 UTC

*most*

2020-01-16 21:34:44 UTC

Also there is the obligation to be a zealous advocate.

2020-01-16 21:34:50 UTC

hmm

2020-01-16 21:35:07 UTC

cant lawyers refuse to work for you in court?

2020-01-16 21:35:36 UTC

and dont they have to do a background check?

2020-01-16 21:36:50 UTC

so, I accidentally did't mute myself, and I said fuck

2020-01-16 21:36:56 UTC

It's complicated. I am not a lawyer but it can be considered harming a person if you agree to take up their case and then drop them in the middle of the process because then the opposition has an advantage.

2020-01-16 21:37:01 UTC

I do't think that the customer heard it

2020-01-16 21:37:17 UTC

I dont mean drop the case mid-court

2020-01-16 21:37:31 UTC

No I mean mid preparation.

2020-01-16 21:38:13 UTC

This is all he's got left to try to silence the issue and he doesn't really have a leg to stand on

2020-01-16 21:38:16 UTC

I mean when onion boi trys to contact the lawyers

2020-01-16 21:38:27 UTC

cant they refuse?

2020-01-16 21:38:32 UTC

By the time a trial happens (if it happens) both sides pretty much know each other's arguments. If your attorney drops, then the other council has had more time to prepare.

2020-01-16 21:38:44 UTC

They can refuse.

2020-01-16 21:38:48 UTC

good

2020-01-16 21:38:52 UTC

hope they do

2020-01-16 21:39:24 UTC

so greg wouldnt have anyone for backup

2020-01-16 21:39:42 UTC

If the attorney thinks the case isn't worth taking up, they don't have to unless they are a public defender or something of the sort.

2020-01-16 21:39:43 UTC

You would think lawyers would refuse to work for someone like Onision but they do, worse people than him too. It brings them not just money but notoriety too if the person or case is well known

2020-01-16 21:39:59 UTC

o

2020-01-16 21:40:16 UTC

wouldn't it hurt their reputation?

2020-01-16 21:40:29 UTC

theres so much proof of greg being a pedo

2020-01-16 21:40:37 UTC

or groomer

2020-01-16 21:41:02 UTC

That depends. Being in this discord, we are all probably pretty biased. We don't know what potential council has seen.

2020-01-16 21:41:08 UTC

Or not seen.

2020-01-16 21:41:23 UTC

It's a risk they take, if they could win it would be a huge boost to their career and even if they lose depending how they performed as a lawyer they might get more work too

2020-01-16 21:41:39 UTC

cant you present videos in the court?

2020-01-16 21:41:42 UTC

I mean what's been seen, is that Greg is a sociopathic liar, and has a habit of trying to make himself look perfect.

2020-01-16 21:41:53 UTC

@TallBrokenDoor They can be taken out of context, he can just claim they were all "skits"

2020-01-16 21:41:58 UTC

I don't think this case is too high profile. This isn't a big deal outside of the YouTube bubble.

2020-01-16 21:42:23 UTC

It is high profile enough to be reported on outside of YouTube sometimes

2020-01-16 21:42:56 UTC

Not forgetting Chris was very well known prior to being on YouTube

2020-01-16 21:43:35 UTC

you still have his victims interview's

2020-01-16 21:43:54 UTC

but greg would try to strike them down

2020-01-16 21:44:12 UTC

That's probably more due to Chris Hansen's fame.

Here is my reference point: all kinds of millionaires and public figured like news personalities get into disputes every day and we rarely hear about it. A Google algorithm might put this one in front of you more because you're watching videos about it already. I bet you most people haven't heard if this.

2020-01-16 21:45:01 UTC

Greg cannot prove slander, the worst he can claim is these women are lying about their experiences and deny their accusations

2020-01-16 21:45:44 UTC

Onision can't strike the videos down and even if they aren't on YouTube they're still recorded and usable in court.
