So you left college for good?

2020-01-29 10:00:00 UTC

British college I assume?

Yeah, I have an apprenticeship that it getting organised. I hated college, I thought everyone would be a bit more mature than they were in school but that was not the case.

2020-01-29 10:00:17 UTC

Kinda British system, but Indian

2020-01-29 10:00:40 UTC

Wait nvm

2020-01-29 10:01:19 UTC

Realized British people called their last 2 years of high school college and the actual undergraduate uni

2020-01-29 10:01:32 UTC

Yee it gets confusing

2020-01-29 10:01:41 UTC

I mean, same for majority in India, but I studied in a K-12 system

The systems are so different, it confuses me.

2020-01-29 10:03:02 UTC

And a small specialised institute for undergraduate degree is also called college over here

2020-01-29 10:03:51 UTC

Unis exist too, I was just too dumb to get into them, the competition for unis is tough

2020-01-29 10:04:18 UTC

Most people here go to college

2020-01-29 10:04:23 UTC

In India yeah

2020-01-29 10:04:32 UTC

The lucky ones get to live at the uni

2020-01-29 10:04:37 UTC

Very high requirements right

2020-01-29 10:04:42 UTC

Because there are a lot of applicants

2020-01-29 10:04:46 UTC

Number wise yes

2020-01-29 10:04:56 UTC

Yeah, there is a whole rank system

2020-01-29 10:05:37 UTC

I got a mediocre rank, but I did not live in India before college, and I got mediocre marks so I had to get into college the normal way

The grade system has changed here so we had to score more than last years to get a pass, it is being put up again this year too.

2020-01-29 10:06:07 UTC

Plus, it was a degree that required math grades, and I barely qualified in math

2020-01-29 10:06:17 UTC

Oof

2020-01-29 10:06:56 UTC

If I got into a bachelors in art it wouldn't had been that bad for me, I might even have gotten a scholarship

2020-01-29 10:07:19 UTC

But i took a bachelors in engineering, which is THE most common degree here

2020-01-29 10:07:25 UTC

Hehe so original

I passed English Language, English Literature and Art with all Bs. I was 11 marks off a pass in Mathematics.

2020-01-29 10:07:42 UTC

Aww

2020-01-29 10:08:22 UTC

Nah I got an A in English, and all Bs and Cs in physics chemistry and bio, and a D in math

2020-01-29 10:08:22 UTC

All things considered pretty impressive with all the higher grades you need to pass

Maths definitely wasn't my thing and it wasn't an awful score so it's cool. It just meant I had to do a Level 2 course at college instead of Level 3.

2020-01-29 10:08:36 UTC

Those were the electives for me in 12th grade

2020-01-29 10:09:02 UTC

Same, but my parents wanted me to either become a doctor or an engineer

2020-01-29 10:09:17 UTC

So since 10th grade my fate was sealed

2020-01-29 10:09:42 UTC

It's okay though, programming is cool

Now that I have a Diploma it's fine because employers will want to know about that, not my GCSEs.

2020-01-29 10:10:13 UTC

I just wished I did a certification course for programming or a B.Sc and left it at that

2020-01-29 10:10:27 UTC

That's epic congrats

2020-01-29 10:10:45 UTC

But bleh, this will suffice too

You're doing some really tough things, I could never do it.๐Ÿ˜จ
