If the government itself is unwilling to make efforts to stop this, then no amount of caring on the part of the citizenry will have any effect.

A prime example is Evergreen State College. The proper thing to do would have been for the government to step in on day one and say "anti-white prejudice is still racism, stop it now."

There are actually laws in America against racism, isn't there? Or do those laws only bar racism in professional environments, like government and employment?

I mean yeah there are laws in place for that but it still doesn’t stop racism in other social realms

I’ve never heard of a case for being charged for hate speech, but then again that is not something I closely follow

Or, more specifically, can't be racist towards white people. I'm sure if a black person were racist towards a Latino, they'd be called out on it.
