I've heard they keep doing that to pass anti-internet bills.

thats where it should stop
That's what they do. "We must control x or y," usually in the name of preventing discrimination against minorities or encouraging diversity.
The internet is a very contradictory place though; it’s encouraged to never provide your real name or your personal data to the internet for the sake of saftey.
*but its also against the law to fake your identity on the internet*

Wouldn’t that make identity fraud even worse?
If you’re giving info to the establishment under a false identity, that’s not just breaking the law, that’s spitting in its face
