My best buds were cats but I'm not good with cat litter maintenance

Use feline pine. Absorbs most of the smell and relatively safe if you flush a few pellets when you get rid of solid waste. I keep the box next to the toilet.

Dogs are my favorite kind of pet but cat's are cool also.
