I'm so sick of them saying I'm bigoted when they prop up racism against white people all the fucking time ⌚
Like I get we colonized and shit but we also furthered most of all medical and scientific advancements. If the British empire didn't exist someone else would have done what they did and it would be racism against those people
Idk it's just stupid... Or maybe it's just me
and those things happened before we were born
yet we are still haunted by them all the way into present day for some fucked up reasoning
@Bobby_Hill it's not really women though. It's Feminists. An important distinction to make - it's an ideology, not a gender. Only Feminists see them as the same thing
@Men Are Human where it mentions giving 'women's fields' higher pay, that sounds somewhat similar to what's happening in Canada in some of the 2018 legislation
@InsaneCaterpilla It does Indeed. Well spotted.
direct discrimination disguised with convoluted and reasonably-sounding language. so you can never directly accuse them with their own words. classic manipulation tactics
I kinda hope this will work out with teachers and nurses getting more - and men filling up more of those roles.
@blueorange22 Indeed
yo, can i be informed on these new Canadian laws? i really need to know
I hope everyone is trying to enjoy the holiday season. Even with all the adversity we face we need to not let it consume us.
I'm trying to limit the amount of time I browse r/mensrights
Hear hear!
All it does for me now is make me sad or angry or both
I can understand that, I used to avoid it, but now I see it as a responsibility. No one will do it for us but ourselves
But do we really make a visible difference? I feel like this is less activism and more slactivism
Definitely. You can feel the difference, I see and hear people unknowingly reflect pro MRA sentiments all the time
@Lotad I'll update the article tomorrow and repost it here
Hopefully that should explain it
ok
I've updated it somewhat, jsut checking over a few things.
In the mean time, here's a seasonally appropriate reddit post: “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire” (1989) and the Diminished Respect for Fatherhood - https://redd.it/a8q50u https://killtoparty.com/2015/04/08/simpsons-roasting-on-an-open-fire-1989-and-the-diminished-respect-for-fatherhood/
An anti-feminist radio host in Argentina has been convicted of 'sexism' for telling the truth. He has been sentenced to listen to feminist guests on his show for ten minutes every week, without interrupting or critical thinking.
I'm watching American circumcision on Netflix right now. I wish they would have gone into more details about the reason behind the AAP's promotion of circumcision. It mentions that it promotes it because of the huge backlash they get from circumcised men being told that it wasn't useful to them, but it didn't dig very deep into it imo.
Oof I dont really wanna watch this part. They show the amputation devices they have for circumcision and describe their usage
It's like some kind of medieval torture class
At least the actual operation part is blurred...
If you decide to watch it, its not for the faint of heart. But i would encourage you to educate yourself if you want to end it
they have to be careful. as long as the adverse affects are communicated, it's an effective documentary
I don't know, I think that people otherwise on the fence would sway toward 'our side' when confronted with the actual reality
most people have no idea wht a frenulum and ridged band are. it's an easy selling point if we can convince people. but obvious there are many misleading studies and denial problems to overcome
That's a point, but the reason I mentioned that specifically is if we can get to the route of that problem then I can have a more effective argument, as people do trust the AAP, however misguided that is. As far as I can tell its because of legal advice to keep it up in the issue up in air rather than face judgement from others
agreed
@InsaneCaterpilla It ain't blurred on other services, I'll tell you that much!
@Men Are Human I'm bloody glad it was, I don't wanna see it, it was bad enough!
Especially how the doctor who did it described it... He was giving pain to that little baby and justifying it at every step... It was abhorrent how he could do that
