That law was written by a man
A man thought it up... and wrote it down.
You are partially correct in saying it was written by a man
So, let me get this straight... God is some dead mans subconscience telling him to write down some words...?
I have no wish to have a serious conversation with someone who only wishes to mock my beliefs
Don't take it personally, I mock them all.
It's like me believing in Superman as a god
No its not
Sure, it's half true, but it's half fiction too
You are basically ignoring the 2,000 year history of the Church
and replacing it with a modern idol
but Judaism is older
So because the man got people to follow him for 2,000 years, it's worth more, because more people were fooled?
There's many older religions...
Modern Judaism is not the same religion as that practised thousands of years ago
Important thing to keep in mind
actually it pretty much is
Really?
Modern Jews have a temple?
one of the primary facets of their religion is preserving the old ways
its why they still learn hebrew
Clearly you dont know anything about Judaism
I clearly know a lot more than you do
The biblical texts that the Jews use are dated hundreds of years after Christ
Whereas we Christians use the Greek texts which are thousands of years older
actually the bible is dated back to 400 a.d.
and the Jews invented the Talmud
but you're right I don't know anything
Are you talking about the Old Testament?
Because thats not true
You dont know anything
So where is the sacramental priesthood that is mentioned in the books of Exodus and Leviticus?
where is the temple?
modern Judaism was invented after Christ
fair enough, I can't seem to find documentation on the dating of the bible
I have to find more food... brb, have to scrounge.
its a royal mess
there are like 100 versions of the bible
I do not want to read enough to understand the differences
Religion can either be a sword wielded to control the populace under a certain belief system, or it instead can be used as a source of comfort for the benefit of people. What would you rather it was, Isaac? It can't be both, because if it is the former, it ceases to be a comfort to people.
Any arguments that stem from religion are invalid, we've covered that when I mentioned faith doesn't require proof and in debates proof is paramount.
If you want a religion that does good for the world and helps people, then your arguments must be based on more than faith.
