as for nanotech, the malicious applications are tremendous. You could, for example, use nanobots to insert into people you are targeting and cause them to die without anyone seeing any external sign as to why or what happened. Or, for that matter, you can use nanobots to totally keep track on the premises, health, biological signals etc. of any person you want at any time. There's also the grey goo thing but that's not most immediate concern.
