youre immune to SJWism

2018-12-17 03:29:12 UTC

Not really

2018-12-17 03:29:18 UTC

It's worse when I'm in public by myself

2018-12-17 03:29:22 UTC

around friends it's not as bad

2018-12-17 03:29:37 UTC

The more I'm occupied with something, the less tics i have

2018-12-17 03:31:44 UTC

> Do you believe protecting culture is more important than economic growth, and why or why not?

I mean, that depends *a lot* on the culture in question, now doesn't it?

2018-12-17 03:32:15 UTC

For this question, it would be your country's culture

2018-12-17 03:32:49 UTC

Finnish culture? *Meh idk.* Soviet culture? Hell yes its more important.

2018-12-17 03:33:18 UTC

Also, it would depend a lot on what is meant by "economic growth"

2018-12-17 03:33:43 UTC

if by this is meant some kind of "capitalist growth" then fuck that shit, culture of almost any country is more important

2018-12-17 03:34:03 UTC

but if by "economic growth" is meant growth in productivity that translates to general well-being of the people, then this is quite different

2018-12-17 03:34:40 UTC

it would be a pretty mean spirited move to deprive a community of its culture in the name of progress

2018-12-17 03:35:01 UTC

it would be a pretty mean spirited move to impoverish a community in name of culture

2018-12-17 03:35:21 UTC

its a duality, both sides are important

2018-12-17 03:35:23 UTC

that would be up to those communities to decide on whats important to them or not

2018-12-17 03:35:30 UTC

but here the correct answer depends on many variables

2018-12-17 03:35:45 UTC

The entirety of the United States cant speak on the behalf of certain specific ethnic groups

2018-12-17 03:36:35 UTC

Native Americans for example have some land that companies are apparently interested in cuz it has oil

2018-12-17 03:36:51 UTC

btw US is interesting in this sense, while it is more incohesive than many European countries in terms of culture, it *does* have a certain American culture to itself, which, contrary to the moanings of the European ethnofags, has its traditions etc.

2018-12-17 03:36:52 UTC

But the land in question is where their burial sites are

2018-12-17 03:37:48 UTC

The US is pretty interesting in that it has a lot of culture both brought by immigrants and culture developed within each states

2018-12-17 03:38:08 UTC

As for general culture they all agree upon western values shared by other western countries

2018-12-17 03:38:20 UTC

freedom of expression, equal rights etc

2018-12-17 03:38:50 UTC

I personally am of the school of thought that culture is downstream from material and technical conditions, so this is why I ultimately don't think too much of the culture part in this section, because as long as there is material and technical progress, culture *will* adapt and form around it and create basis for a new civilisation.

Then again, the culture in the West has become so hollow due to capitalism and empty progressivism that transhumanism has become a thing, so I've been forced to adjust my views slightly.

2018-12-17 03:39:44 UTC

as for the U.S, yes

2018-12-17 03:40:11 UTC

culture there is very much all over the place and region-variant, but a coherent red thread, "federal culture" lets call it, does exist

2018-12-17 03:40:14 UTC

The West has stil managed to hold on to its cultures unlike a certain eastern country

2018-12-17 03:40:29 UTC

Which is china

2018-12-17 03:40:46 UTC

Thats basically what a country would look like if we abanoned the importance of culture

2018-12-17 03:41:13 UTC

eh, I'd say that Chinese culture is still alive. Its...disfigured, I think, a bit, and has a massive inferiority complex towards Japanese culture, but such a culture does exist.

2018-12-17 03:41:34 UTC

Chinese culture in general is about having an inferiority complex

2018-12-17 03:41:39 UTC

2018-12-17 03:41:45 UTC

well yes

2018-12-17 03:41:46 UTC

Thats why they put on a face of being wealthy even though theyre not

2018-12-17 03:41:56 UTC

Very materialistic culture

2018-12-17 03:42:17 UTC

this kind of becomes embodied in their relationship with Taiwan, this inferiority complex, where their whole national psyche becomes fixated around this one small island

2018-12-17 03:42:43 UTC

Western culture today is fucked

2018-12-17 03:42:58 UTC

@broskaroo Welcome!

2018-12-17 03:42:59 UTC

but it is also directed by the CPC to a large extent, mainly for political reasons; to draw people's eyes away from the ever-more troubled economy

2018-12-17 03:43:18 UTC

Its also the same reason why theyre obsessed with being self sufficient and making it known that theyre a threat

2018-12-17 03:43:31 UTC

They dont want to be bullied by foreigners
