well, I mean, Hitler did drive DAP into much more Fascistic direction compared to the Strasser brothers or the left-wing of DAP. I think the major difference between Italian Fascism and German Fascism is the race component

2018-12-17 04:51:40 UTC

My nickname is superior

2018-12-17 04:51:42 UTC

Mhm

2018-12-17 04:51:58 UTC

Racism wasn't really in Fascist Italy until Mussolini cracked under Hitler's pressure

2018-12-17 04:52:07 UTC

Well, there were no racial laws

2018-12-17 04:52:11 UTC

yeah it wasn't part of the original platform

2018-12-17 04:52:23 UTC

and I think that Mussolini *only* did it because of said pressure

2018-12-17 04:52:29 UTC

I don't think it coincides with his character

2018-12-17 04:52:33 UTC

Mhm

2018-12-17 04:52:45 UTC

Mussolini originally disliked and didn't trust Hitler

2018-12-17 04:53:09 UTC

the Roman Empire which Fascist Party tried to recreate was multiethnic to begin with, so the race component was nonsensical to the rejuvenation project of the Italian Fascist

2018-12-17 04:54:26 UTC

Fascism would've been much better without Hitler

2018-12-17 04:54:46 UTC

What can be said of it is that it would've survived, I think, much longer than it did historically

2018-12-17 04:55:00 UTC

Eh

2018-12-17 04:55:12 UTC

Hitler's meltdown with Soviets ensured that it would be destroyed not long after the war began

2018-12-17 04:55:13 UTC

Probably

2018-12-17 04:55:45 UTC

There were already fascist movements in pretty much every Western country by the mid 1930s

2018-12-17 04:55:55 UTC

only a few got any real political power though

2018-12-17 04:56:40 UTC

Jose antonio was murdered smh

2018-12-17 04:56:42 UTC

There are a few lesser known fascist, or fascist-esque states, like Portugal and Brazil, under Salazar and Vargas

2018-12-17 04:56:45 UTC

Fuck franco

2018-12-17 04:56:47 UTC

It was a growing movement, yes, but I think that it never had that global appeal of communism though it wanted to partake in that appeal. For example in Finland, a fascist movement did exist but it was btfo'd pretty hard by the general public and government.

2018-12-17 04:56:56 UTC

Yeah

2018-12-17 04:56:59 UTC

Austrofascism was one of the more serious lesser tendencies I think

2018-12-17 04:57:01 UTC

RIP Lapua movement

2018-12-17 04:57:28 UTC

@Xinyue are you the guy on twitter that has the same pfp as what you have on here

2018-12-17 04:57:31 UTC

Its funny, Finland is always lifted up on this right-wing pedestal but the whole country throughout its history was very consistently left-wing

2018-12-17 04:57:39 UTC

Mhm

2018-12-17 04:57:46 UTC

> I still love how Finland doesn't get shit for cooperating with Nazi Germany

you know, its a hot topic. I think most understand it from the situation standpoint, I personally think Continuation War was stupid but understand the *impulse* to retake Viipuri and stuff
