I do think that Kennedy probably cared about his ideas in a way that presidents since him haven't, and I do kind of think that his own government probably got to him (at that point the military-industrial-intelligence community had taken shape, and Kennedy spoke of disbanding it), however his ideas were - ultimately - not at all radical from my viewpoint beyond the talk of disbanding intelligence community
