@ImATomato to answer your question its to reach communism - the society in which the means of labour are held in common and where the administrative apparatus is reduced to that which is necessary for production and distribution to function. In *On Authority,* for example, Engels recognises that authority isn't inherently evil and will exist in some form forever. Many anarchists repudiate authority altogether, so in my view the goal of Marxism is some kind of minarchist communism, whereas anarchists usually have...well, full anarchism as the goal.
