Tribal association declined greatly once nation-states developed. You do not really have any tribal association in Finland, for example. Once the nations merge, same will happen to nations - they will become much like counties are today
but it's SOCIALLY COHESIVE because it's HOMOGENOUS
which is the point
Its not
yeah it is lol
Finland in 1918 had huge civil war, one of the most brutal in Europe, brother killed brother and father killed son
I lost the topic was afk
Homogenous is Subjective.. depends on what frame you're using..
yes
is Israel Homogenous?
not really
but it's a Nation State
it is a jewish state, for jewish people
NO
dude, have you ever seen a reformist and orthodox jews together?
Yeah but what kind of Jewish People?
they can't fucking stand each other
because thats religious
so race doesn't unify them then
argument won
they still have common group interests
Reformist vs Talmudic Jews?
Ashkenazim vs Sephardim
Israeli Communist Party doesn't share "group interest" with Likud
there is diversity within a group
always
yes
ideological sure
doesn't mean i want to be flooded with somalis
there are two poles - the species and the individual. Between these two *irreducible points,* number of aggregations and distributions of belief, behaviour and such emerge.
Nation is not foundational
race is not foundational
but species and individual are
those, then, deserve to be the foundations for social politics
wew the pilpuling of pure ideology is strong in this one
do you have argument? no? didn't think so
yeah i do. i'm thinking
ok
take your time
The difference between a black guy and a white guy is the same as the difference between someone who has green eyes and someone who has brown ?
a nation is made up of biologically similar peoples,
race is biological
to equate a somali and a european is ridiculous, they are completely different
its ridiculous to say that the interests of the somali and the european are the same
both have different needs, different practices of doing things
do you really think that a nation is more strengthened if a foreign element which is against the values etc which resides in the host country?
I share very little in common with a Finnish national socialist, fascist or anarcho-capitalist. I share, however, probably quite a bit in common with a Somali person who seeks communism is this not true? And what different needs does a Somali person have from me? Does he not eat, does he not sleep, does he not need to form a family, gain offspring? Does he lack need for humour, love, friendship? What is the *foundational distinction* between a Somali communist and myself, especially if both converse in English?
Not much.
Values, furthermore, change radically. The values in Kingdom of Prussia in 1800s don't quite coincide with the values in City of Berlin in 2015, or do they? Are "values" too immutable?
