Norma brass
I’ve seen so many peoples matches end because of their reloaded ammo issues
^
I also shoot 10k+ rounds a year
#1 cause of issues
Bought all my gear during the last ammo crunch
10K total over all calibers?
That doesn’t include shotgun
But yeah
is that just matches?
It used to be more, but I’ve dialed back my schedule
Matches are less ammo intensive than practice
yea, but i wasn't sure how many matches you were hitting across multiple disciplines
so basically you weren't a sponsored shooter
I was doing like 18 matches a season (since the shooting season is short here)
Did some regional championships
I burn tripple the ammo in practice that I do in comps for handgund
Was getting pretty serious, but other responsibility have shifted the focus away from me going as hard into shooting for the last two years
5x on long guns
yeesh, must be nice to have a place to do that
I have like 3 places
I travelled up and down the east coast shooting matches
all the gun clubs around here are full of good ol' boys and charge extortionist dues
1 year probation, etc
so i havent joined
just shoot the public matches
It took me a while to get into local clubs
Volunteering can usually defray the cost or get rid of probation periods
yea, these places all complain about that
^^^^
and wont let more members in
Help set up for matches
I help with the matches i go to
Sometimes places like that are your only option
Kinda is what it is. It’s not easy running a shooting range.
have clubs saying "oh, well the 1918 charter says only 100 members, so we wont have any more, but you have to spend 3 weekends a month cleaning the club"
fuck that
also, they have senior citizen dues exemptions
so the old guys aren't paying anything
and are the bulk of the membership
